Amaral verdict

Anyone heard anything, supposed to be due today isn't it?

I've just tried to access Joana Morais' blog to see if she had anything, but her blog is now only open to invited people and I'm not one of them!

Is there actually a court session today (re the damages trial) or, as I read somewhere, will the decision be made available only to the lawyers?

I heard that Joana Morais had removed her blog completely.

Actually, the last time I heard Joana had closed her blog. She was very tired and wanted to take some time off. Not to delete it altogether, she decided to make it 'private' but as far as I know no one has been 'invited' and there is nothing going on behind closed doors. She's just taking some time off from the case and all the nastiness attached to it.

She has, Anna. I think the last straw was people on social networks involving her mother's name. I hope she takes some time off and comes back stronger.

I've found nothing else on Twitter and nothing coming up on any news media.

I reckon anything it says is bound to be a clucking lie!

Sounds like a case of fowl play then.........

I'm quite sure that some of the newspapers etc, would have picked up on it by now if there had been a verdict.

Lisbon Trial: Awaiting the Verdict
Many of you who have been following the trial will be aware of the fact that the deadline for all parties to deliver their legal arguments to the court ended on the 26th of February.

Legal arguments were delivered by several parties and now we await a verdict from the Judge.

Article 607 of the Portuguese Civil Process Code stipulates an indicative period of 30 days after the process is concluded by the Judge. While this is not a legal deadline but merely a recommendation, several jurists believe that this case will receive a relatively swift decision.

Judicial holidays over the Easter period (March 29-April 6, dates are inclusive) mean that no verdict will be issued during this interruption of the Courts' work.

We trust in Justice and serenely await the Judge's decision, in solidarity with Gonçalo Amaral.

I can't believe this is still dragging on. I thought they would have reached a verdict before now. Are people still hopeful? I'm not sure what to think any more about the outcome of this.

Its hard to stay optimistic, after all this time of unfairness . I guess we just have to trust that.. justice will prevail in the end. Whenever that may be.

The waiting is frustrating but, as Mr. Amaral has said, "Justice works in silence".
