almost forgot this. my little friend at the beeb tells us that they felt they had little choice in not renewing clarkson's contract at the end of march , 2015, but that the intention is for him to return to top gear in about 2 years. this was hinted at by the the big boss in his statement when he stated that top gear will return next year, without being specific about when next year.
