A Russian named Vadim Nikitim claims that IS should be recognised as a sovereign state and negotiated with as such. Is he serious? Even if they did negotiate it would mean nothing since like Iran over the alleged nuclear arms agreement, they would deal only until such time as they were in a position to break it. The big problem being, this nugget is a freelance journalist with a degree from Harvard no less, and has articles regularly printed in the New York Times and other influential papers. There are those who will listen to him, or persuaded that he is right.
