Mum whose toddler son was found dead after she left him alone to visit her boyfriend is jailed for child neglect - Daily Record
"Amanda Hardie repeatedly left her two-year-old son Clyde at night for hours while she socialized. Hardie was at her boyfriend's on the night of Clyde's death."
She plead guilty to "wilfully ill-treating, abandoning and neglecting" the little fellow. Her lawyer told the court she now has "post traumatic stress". She has been jailed for 10 months for child neglect.
Similarities to Madeleine's case - one being a neighbour heard the little guy crying on an earlier occasion.
Perhaps someone more talented than I can post this tragic article.

AMANDA Hardie repeatedly left her two-year-old son Clyde at night for hours while she socialised. Hardie was at her boyfriend's on the night of Clyde's death.
A MOTHER whose toddler son was found dead at her flat while she was out at her boyfriend’s has been jailed for 10 months for child neglect.
Amanda Hardie, 30, repeatedly left two-year-old Clyde Campbell at night for hours on end while she worked or went out socialising.
He died of cot death on February 23, 2014, while Hardie was with her boyfriend.
Ex-model Hardie sobbed at Inverness Sheriff Court as she was led away in handcuffs
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood told her: “You placed your own desires, work and socialising before those of your children.”
Hardie went to work on February 22, 2014, at G’s nightclub in Inverness, leaving Clyde with no adult supervision.
After work, she went to her boyfriend’s flat and fell asleep.
On February 23, neighbours worried about Clyde went into Hardie’s flat and found the tot lifeless in bed. An ambulance was called but Clyde could not be saved. Another neighbour contacted Hardie on Facebook and told her to come home.
It was not the first time Hardie had gone out and left Clyde.
Earlier that month, while Hardie was out working at the weekend, a neighbour passed her flat and heard Clyde crying for his mum. She knocked on the door but no one answered and the crying stopped.
On February 19, Hardie found Clyde in her kitchen with a bottle of cleaning fluid. Some of it was on his clothes. She took him to hospital but doctors found no signs he had swallowed the fluid.

On February 21, Hardie worked at the nightclub from noon to 4pm and 8pm to 4am. Her boyfriend Ian Hill took her back home after her first shift, then returned later to take her back to work.
After Hardie’s second shift, she went to Hill’s home and stayed until lunchtime. She had told a colleague that she was struggling for child care that weekend, but did not ask for help.
Hardie pled guilty in March to wilfully ill-treating, abandoning and neglecting Clyde and exposing him to unnecessary suffering or injury at her flat in Mackintosh Road between October 1, 2013, and February 23, 2014.
There was no evidence to link Clyde’s death to Hardie’s neglect.
Sentencing yesterday, Sheriff Fleetwood told her the tragedy was “not at your door” and she was not being punished for it. But he said she had to take responsibility for leaving him unattended.
Lorenzo Alonzi, defending, told the court: “Clyde’s death will be an enduring source of torment for her.
“I accept if you leave children alone, you are taking a risk. But something unforeseeable happened here and that makes it all the more tragic.”

Mr Alonzi said she had a difficult childhood and had been involved in abusive relationships in the past. She was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder in 2009 and previously suffered post-natal depression after the birth of her first child.
He added: “As a result of Clyde’s death, she now has post-traumatic stress.”

A COURT heard Amanda Hardie abandoned, neglected and exposed her son Clyde to unecessary suffering.
Amanda did a lot of modelling work.
THE mother of a toddler found dead at his home has admitted neglecting him over a five month period.
Amanda Hardie, who lives in East Kilbride, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and yesterday pleaded guilty
to ill-treating, abandoning, neglecting and exposing two year old Clyde Campbell to unnecessary suffering
in Inverness between October 1, 2013 and February 23, 2014.
The court was told that Hardie often left Clyde in her flat as she went out to work until the early hours in an Inverness nightclub.
The tot died in his bed on February 23, 2014 and it was some time before his cause of death was established as Sudden Infant Death in Childhood – or cot death.
Fiscal Roderick Urquhart told Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood: “Further medical enquiries established no clinical basis to link her neglect of Clyde to his death.” Sheriff Fleetwood deferred sentence on Hardie for a background report and she will re-appear on April 15.
Defence counsel Lorenzo Alonzi also said he would have a psychiatric report prepared on his client, who he said “has a history of mental health problems.”
The Sheriff warned Hardie: “All possible disposals are open to the court for this case as the court has to take seriously what happened.”
