A British boy has been found safe and well today after going missing in Praia da Luz - ten years after the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in the same resort.
Police launched a search operation after the youngster, aged about eight, went missing in the Portuguese town.
The Policia Judiciaria, the force involved in the search for Madeleine McCann, mobilised a specialist team in Lisbon before they heard the boy was safe.

Officers from the GNR force, the police force which was first on the scene after Madeleine McCann's disappearance, were also conducting house-to-house inquiries in Praia da Luz when the good news came through.
It was understood he was taken to a police station in the town of Lagos near to Praia da Luz rather than reaching the station himself.

The circumstances in which he was found have not yet been made clear.
A source said: 'He arrived at the police station in Lagos around 4pm.'
The unnamed boy, thought to be aged around eight, disappeared around midday.
Initial reports said he was last seen on the beach at Praia da Luz although local Maritime Police chief Conceicao Duarte later said he had disappeared in town.
The exact location he was last seen at is not yet known.

The Metropolitan Police received an extra £85,000 earlier this year from the Home Office to continue the Operation Grange investigation into Maddie's disappearance.
But the cash dries up at the end of September, with officers still determined to find the youngster who went missing in Portugal 10 years ago.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Scotland Yard is chasing a critical lead it believes could crack the case and it is understood they have returned to a theory that burglars were involved.
But the Portuguese police, who have previously accused the British of acting like a 'colonial power' in their country, say there is no evidence to back this up.

Carlos Anjos, the former head of the country's Policia Judiciaria officers' union, said the Metropolitan Police's theory that Madeleine was taken in a botched burglary is 'absurd'.
Parents Gerry and Kate led prayer services in May to mark the 10 year anniversary of her disappearance and said they had not given up hope and would 'overcome despair'.
Writing a message on the Find Madeleine website, Mrs McCann told how 'stressful and painful' the 'unwanted' occasion was.
Madeleine was found to be missing from her bed in the rented apartment by her horrified mother shortly after 10pm on May 3 2007.
She had been left alone with younger twin siblings Sean and Amelie while her parents were dining in the nearby Tapas restaurant with their seven pals, who became known collectively as the Tapas Nine.

Re: latest from the Daily Wail
The DM now has up-dated the article - prosecutors have yet to decide whether the parents should be charged with child abandonment. If the parents called Gordon Brown - probably not.

They certainly are back in the news. Never ones to miss a chance, they are "praying for the safe return"of the little girl kidnapped by her father. Of course this comment is accompanied by a picture of the terrible two.

I've just read that report in the Sun - it's beyond despicable the way they jump on board every chance they get to get back in the news - I've run out of words to describe the way I feel about the McCanns - the comments accompanying the Sun article echo my thoughts though.

Re: latest from the Daily Wail
Any word yet from the McCanns on the Molly Owens case which bears no similarity to the "missing" Madeleine McCann case, thank God.

Molly Owens is the little five year old girl who was reported missing. She was taken to Ireland by her father who has since returned with her to the U.K. I believe the father is now in custody for this and other offences. The McCanns, of course, jumped with support while she was supposed to be missing; I see no connection to Madeleine's case.
