Police are hunting a 26-year-old man after his newlywed wife was found strangled to death.
Vicky Roberts' body was discovered dumped in a garage at their home in Runcorn, Cheshire, two days ago.
Officers were called to the block of flats after being contacted by the 25-year-old's father, who was worried he had not heard from his daughter.
Detectives released a wedding day photo of the couple, who married six months ago, while renewing their appeal for her husband Michael to come forward.
A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: "Her death is being treated as suspicious, and a post-mortem to determine the cause of death took place yesterday.
"Early indications are that the cause of death was strangulation, although further tests will need to be carried out."
One neighbour said: "Michael and Vicky had lived upstairs for about a year.
"Mike was in our house for half an hour yesterday before it all happened."
Mrs Roberts' family declined to comment at their home in Warrington.
Detective Inspector Andrew Smith of Cheshire Police said: "I would ask Michael, if he hears this appeal, to make contact with police so that we can speak with him.
"It is several days since Victoria's body was found and you have not made contact with your family, who are now very concerned regarding your well being.
"You can contact any police station and speak with any police officer, or directly contact myself and my team on 0845 458 0000. It is important that we speak with you."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 0845 458 000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A man who went on the run after his wife was found strangled in their garage was arrested yesterday.
Michael Roberts, 26, was held 30 miles from the home he shared with Vicky, 25, who he married six months ago.
A member of the public is thought to have recognised him in Wrexham, North Wales, and called the police.
On Thursday night the phone salesman ran off when officers arrived at his flat in Daresbury, Cheshire, having been alerted by Vicky's anxious father.
One neighbour told how she saw police chase him. She said: "I saw Michael point to the garage and the policeman disappear toward it.
"Michael turned in the opposite direction and both disappeared from my view. Minutes later the policeman ran to his car and sped off."
Another resident said: "People heard them having serious rows in the street in the past couple of months. Police were called once."
