BRANSON MAKES HIS MOVE INTO HEALTH

Healthcare: Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Healthcare Holdings has bought a 75.1% stake in Assura Group's unprofitable medical services business. The deal will also see Virgin provide a £4 million loan to Assura, which is Britain's biggest private owner of GP provider services.

The company said it would focus on it's core property and pharmacy interests. "Virgin brings us significant capital resources", the Assura chief executive, Richard Burrell, said yesterday. "Their governmental relationship is also very important to this partnership." The company said that as a result of the deal, it expects to resume dividend payments next year.

It's good to see our health, or should it be poor health, is going to result in a "dividend" for someone.

Wouldn't put too much stock in a relationship with this government.

I shall be checking on my practice very soon.

However, he'll probably f%ck this business up as well.

You are right kitti he probably will. Our dear Dr Gerry may yet find employment as an Anger Management and Megalomaniac Consultant. He, on paper at least, seems to fulfill the criteria to get a place in front of an interview panel.

I would hope not, she has a habit of seeing alot of dead bodies - doesn't bode well for her patients

She probably doesn't know what it means when a patient turns blue. Or she'd possibly blame them for the situation they find themselves in and go off for a drink and a tapas meal in Queen's Road Leicester, near her mate Fiona's house!
