Amber DuBois Found Dead After a Massive Search.  After over a year of searching, authorities have found Amber DuBois.  Unfortunately the 14 year old was found dead. Police fear that DuBois was killed by the same alleged killer of Chelsea King, John Albert Gardner III. 
Amber went missing back in February 2009 when she was walking to school near Escondido California.  The case went cold until 17 year old Chelsea King vanished while taking a routine run after school. When King’s body was found in a shallow grave near a lake, police began to fervently search for the body of DuBois.
There have been no charges filed in connection with the death of the 14 year old Escondido girl.  Her body was found in a rugged area of Pala, which is a different area of San Diego than where Chelsea King went missing.
John Albert Gardner III is currently behind bars, as he was charged with the death of Chelsea King.  He has pleaded innocent to the charges and is held without bond.   In addition to the deaths of King and DuBois, Gardner is a suspect in an attempted attack on a Colorado area woman in December.  The victim is reported to have allegedly identified Gardner in a photo lineup.
Our hearts are with the family of the missing girl whose body was found.  Hopefully clues and evidence will lead authorities to find who is responsible for her death and bring him or her to justice.

I am so sick and tired of people not taking responsibility for these sick deranged poor excuses of human beings. I think most definitely and i repeat the parents do in FACT need to be held accountable. I mean if there is a murderer in your house, and you know he is a murderer, even though they didn’t know he was murdering our children, if there is a murderer in your home, as in fact a perverted sick monster in the home you have a OBLIGATION morally and it should be legally to report this. This Gardener dude should be tortured like he tortured these sweet little girls and the families and also people like me who are advocating and being a voice for these poor children. It makes me feel sick to my very core the madness that is going on and the crime against poor defenseless kids. Get a clue and put these monsters in jail or on a island with sharks around it and make their lives hell for all eternity

Provided this suspect is found guilty will he get the death sentence? I don’t believe taxpayers should have to pay in order to keep any individual capable of such horrible things alive in prison.

I think they made a deal with the devil to and John Gardner told them where Amber was. Or they aren’t related crimes at all, which means there is another predator on my hometown streets.

Agreed, that if this man is found guilty that he should be punished to the full extent of the law.
But if the crimes we committed in these states:
Alaska, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan,Minnesota ,North Dakota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York , Rhode Island Vermont,West Virginia Wisconsin and Dist. of Columbia
The most he could have gotten is life.

I am for no more children being harmed. The public wants to be involved as every parents’ nightmare has unfolded twice here in San Diego in a matter of weeks. We keep hearing that there are not enough eyes to watch all the registered sex offenders on the street. But not true. If community groups were formed to help keep track of these people accountability could be accomplished. (Mothers, fathers, seniors, retired law enforement,people with required community service,etc.) Our flailing nations’ economy is not going to come up with the neccessary funds which is why it is going to take a grass roots effort. If we keep waiting for them to register themselves as is the current practice and waiting for the system to change, it is just a matter of time before we are searching for our next missing child

Amber DuBois' mom confronts daughter's killer in jail.

Amber DuBois' mother got her wish and met with
her daughter's killer, but said she is keeping the details of her
daughter's final moments to herself to spare other family members.


Carrie McGonigle got 30 minutes with John Gardner on Wednesday. He has admitted he raped and murdered Amber, 14, and 17-year-old Chelsea King.

Gardner, 31, will be sentenced on Friday. He is expected to get life in
prison.

McGonigle said she was determined to talk one-on-one with her daughter's
murderer and even confronted Gardner's mother on Tuesday, asking his
mom to give up her visiting time so McGonigle could see him instead.
Gardner's mother tearfully refused.

McGonigle got a call Wednesday afternoon saying she could meet with
Gardner. She rushed to San Diego's
Central Jail, according to ABC News' San
Diego affiliate KGTV.

McGonigle said Gardner was nervous and respectful during their meeting,
but she declined to detail what he said out of respect for Amber's
father, Moe DuBois. The father, who is separated from McGonigle, has
said he did not want to talk with the killer or hear about his
daughter's last moments.

Amber's grandmother, Shelia Welch, said that spoke with her daughter
after the prison meeting, but did not want to hear what he had to say,
KGTV reported.

McGonigle said she will use what Gardner told her to write the victim's
impact statement she will read at Gardner's sentencing on Friday.

The girl's mother told ABC News last week that she wanted to know how
Gardner got her while she walked to school and why.

"The last hour of her life was spent with this freak," McGonigle said.
"If I get some of my questions answered I'll be a lot better."
"I don't want to know gory details. I don't want to know if she
suffered," she said. "I don't want to hear if she cried for me."

Gardner, a convicted sex offender, has said in a jailhouse interview, that he carried out the attacks during a "major rage."

"I was aware of what I was doing, but I could not stop myself," he said
in a jailhouse interview with San Diego television station KFMB. "I was
in a major rage and pissed off -- pissed off at my whole life and
everybody that's hurt me and blew up, and I hurt the wrong people."
DuBois vanished Feb. 15, 2009, just a few blocks from her school. King
disappeared Feb. 25. Her body was found five days later.

I have just watched the 'Victim impact statements,' with tears in my eyes. Gardner sat there with his eyes down, seemingly unable to look at the family members of his victims and the victim who managed to escape. Remorse? Feeling for his victims and their families? I doubt it. If someone like Gardner had any sense of the evil of his acts, not only would he not have committed them, but having perpetrated his evil once, he would not have repeated it.

I think that Gardner sat there feeling sorry for himself, knowing what he would face for the rest of his life in prison. He was a coward when he picked on young girls who were half his size. Now, let him face men of his own size, every day of his now sorry life.
