A 21-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a three-month-old baby and a three-year-old child were stabbed to death.

The children were found dead at a property in the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester, Greater Manchester Police said.

"An investigation is currently under way into the circumstances surrounding their deaths," a police spokesman said.

The Manchester Evening News reported that the children received fatal stab wounds to the chest.

Forensic experts are currently carrying out a detailed examination of the property.

The sexes of the children are not being disclosed until next of kin had been informed, the force said.

Officers were alerted to the property in Kilmington Drive following reports of child welfare concerns.

The force is appealing for anyone with any information about the discovery to contact CID officers at Grey Mare Lane station on 0161 856 3540.

I came here to post this story I only just heard it.
How absolutely sad. Those poor babies..what makes a mother do these things?? Everyday there is more heartache for children the world over. Have we turned into a nation of abusers and murderers?

Romario & Delayno Mullings-Sewell..........killed by their mother 15150812

The bodies of Romario Mullings-Sewell, two, and his three-month-old brother Delayno were discovered at a property in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, just before 6pm yesterday.

Their 21-year-old mother Jael Mullings, who is being held on suspicion of murder, has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

Police said both children were found with a single stab wound to the abdomen.

The boys' grieving family said in a statement: "This family had two beautiful, innocent children called Romario who was just two-years-old, and his brother Delayno who had only been born in July this year.

I just cannot understand people who do things like this to their children. If they cant cope with them put them into care. Dont murder them.
I just wish to God that they would think before killing their children. It's easy for me to say that as I would never dream of harming my children. Obviously this mother had some problems if she has been sectioned already and I do feel sorry for her in a way. I dont condone her killing her children in any way but there has to be a reason why she would do this. Was she suffering with depression and seeking help for it, if so did she get the help.

I have lost a few friends through suicide and they all suffered with depression. One of my friends went to see the doctor and he told her it was all in her mind that she was depressed, the following day she was found hanging from her attic. She asked the doctor for help and he just pawned her off. The thing with depression is a lot of doctors do not know how to deal with it. Sinead had 2 beautiful children and a fairly good life. Her only problem was she was depressed. If she was given the help and support when she asked for it maybe she would still be alive.
I put this up here to explain why I feel sorry for this woman, if she did suffer with depression then this would have been a factor of her killing her 2 children.

Hi Antoinette, sorry about your freind's suicide. It sounds as if the Doctor didn't recognise the signs of depression, if he had, Sinead might still be here.... Depression is very hard to diagnose, there are so many different types. It doesn't excuse negligent GP's though, who, in my opinion, should be better trained in this area.

Thats very true, there are so many people out there that have lost their lives in one way or another through pure negligence of GP's.

I swore I wouldnt come to this section today...it's got to me for 2 days running now but anyways one cannot avoid what sickness is happening in the world today....

What happened to your friend is so common....not the part where she committed suicide but the fact that doctors cant be bothered with it or see the signs.....at least your friend took her own life and not that of her children....

This woman who took her childrens lives will have to live with that for the rest of her life so it hasnt cured her depression...its just added to it....
