Missing Megan Talks To Mum On Phone


Maths teacher Jeremy Forrest is held on suspicion of child abduction after schoolgirl Megan Stammers is tracked down to Bordeaux.

Missing teenager Megan Stammers has been found safe and well in Bordeaux, France.

  Missing schoolgirl Megan Stammers has spoken to her parents on the phone after being found with her maths teacher in Bordeaux, France.
  
  She is expected to be reunited with her family soon and should return to the UK either tonight or tomorrow, sources said.
  
  Sussex Police said that police swooped on the pair after three sightings were made of them in the south-west of France.
  
  Chief Inspector Jason Tingley revealed details of how the pair were found at a press conference in Lewes, Sussex.

I was really dreading a sad and bitter end,
as lovers sometimes do. But good news.

yes, marxman , but, not condoning what happened, Megan was hardly kidnapped , she knew what she was doing. Teenagers grow up so quickly these days .

She certainly hung around him at school and wasn't abducted as they are trying to make out. I fear that he will be punished, and rightly so, but that Megan will not even receive a grounding. She will be welcomed home and pampered.
OT but how does Megan have the same surname as her step father but not her mother, or have I missed something

I gather that family wise Megan was brought up by Martin Stammers and has his surname though he's not her natural father. He is no longer with her mother but I don't know if the latter is now married to someone else or has reverted to her single name, either of which would explain the different surname.

If only Megan had waited until she was 16!

Re EAWs - isn't it great how inter-European police cooperation works so beautifully and so swiftly when there's no meddling from sleazy politicos and no brass-necked obstruction from the parents of the missing?

Yes indeed, but as our civilisation 'states' in law
that Megan is a minor and does not have same civil or
human rights like a person over 16, I believe they
will make an example of her school teacher in order
to deter other 'cruch' chancers. Other than that I do
not know enough to comment more.

EAWs are rarely used but seem to work well when issued.

Wonder if he will be found guilty?

Should never have been a teacher , no maturity and no sense of professionalism.

We don't know anything about how professional he was in other ways as a teacher.

Surely the fact that he, as a thirty year old, ran off with a fifteen year old pupil is enough to say he was not fit for the profession?

If they are so much in love then he should have waited until She was 16 then it would be legal but unethical i have to say.He'll not be a teacher again in this country now.He's guilty of being bloody stupid at the very least so that dont make a good teacher in my book.
