Not "they were cleared", and "abducted" not mentioned. As if the conclusions of the SY review, probably no track for an abduction,were anticipated or?

Well, if nobody knew what Tony was about to allege before, then everybody certainly knows now. Very nice of Judge Tugendhat to have this committed to public record and printed in all the papers, now that Tony himself isn't allowed to say it anymore.

It's a bit like the Daily Wail complaining about Frankie Boyle's "sick" jokes. They then go on to helpfully print it again, just in case there's anybody who might have missed it.

i d0nt think the mcanns have won anything today iris i just read he wont lose his assets etc??so it sounds like he may only have to pay 2000 pounds which is 1500 us dollars ??

IF the mainstream U.K. press cover this, it will be picked up by the international press and that will not bode well for the McCanns. They did not win this round no matter how you look at it. More people will question why Mr. Bennett was targetted for daring, in the first instance, for publishing his opinion which was based on the Portugese investigation. Madeleine's own mother did not co-operate with law enforcement by refusing to answer questions regarding her disappearance. No stone left unturned indeed.

Imo one has to very careful what one says, now the truth seems to be slowly coming out

But if it's about consolidation of SY/Lisbon liaison into Action, then I shan't be surprised.

Could it be evidence in the upcoming libel trial - which forced them at the very last minute to heed Duarte's warning and propose a settlement? Evidence that they, slippery and slimy as they are, couldn't wriggle out of?

Didn't the PJ already have the text messages etc with the incriminating emails and they couldn't be used in a court off law....

Yes, I would think so - maybe what was once inadmissible has now become admissible for whatever reason?
Shifts in the politico-legal balance in one or both countries, perhaps?

Found it now, he/she says they only joined twitter today because they were incensed with Tony's verdict.

Don't believe it about the texts tbh, why pop up today with that nugget of info? All other tweets are pro Maddie.
