A SICK internet troll has threatened to gun down Kate McCann as she runs the London Marathon, it emerged yesterday.

Cops are trying to trace the user who made the chilling comments on Facebook.
Kate, 45 — mum of disappeared Madeleine — is taking part in next month’s run in aid of the Missing People charity.

Under a link to a newspaper story on the event, the weirdo wrote: “Well I am going. Anyone got a gun? BBBanggggg!”
Other trolls, who have made Kate and husband Gerry’s lives hell with smears, piled in with further sick comments.
One warped user wrote: “What would really spook her is if she is surrounded by a group all wearing Madeleine face masks.”
A few made jokes about entering police sniffer dogs into the event to chase after Kate.

McCann family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said yesterday: “This material has been brought to the attention of the police.
“One of the posts is actually a death threat and is being dealt with appropriately.”
Kate’s big run is on April 21 — just 12 days before the sixth anniversary of her three-year-old daughter’s disappearance from a holiday villa in Praia Da Luz on Portugal’s Algarve.
The Sun launched a Target A Troll campaign in September 2011 after the McCanns were tormented.
A source close to Kate said: “She has been told about these vile posts, but it will not put her off competing.”
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “We are aware of the comments posted online. These are currently being assessed.”

So, they are naming people who are on Facebook, in the mainstream media now. Yet the Mccanns can call the PJ effing tossers and such like and it is fine!!! Who is protecting the Mccanns?

Can you remember when Tony's case was tried in Court, someone said the McCanns were trying to close down JH's Forum? Is this latest ploy a trick to get all the anti-McCann forums and Blogs closed down? Think about it, Clarence is back on the scene, first time in months, Kate will now get lots more sponsors because people will feel sorry for her. The McCanns are being kept in the News , this helps Kate's Book launch , and the Sun was first with the News.!!!!
Also "Sheila" is a slang word for female, it suggests the poster is Australian, unable to trace....how convenient. I remember the Holiday in PDL advertised by a Travel Agent something to do with 5a......it turned out to have come from a computer in a University, no one was charged, bet this turns out to be the same.

Yes cass, but there is a big difference between computer antiMcCann Forums and Blogs and Press reporting. The McCanns can't have it both ways, they court tthe Press and enjoy the publicity but in a democracy everyone is entitled to an opinion, admittedly posts sometimes go too far and end up making fun of the McCanns , going OTT but by and large it is informed opinion on the case.

thats the point anyone that questions the mcanns version of events are classed as a internet troll -- re the express headline -- well done with the adds

i personally thunk cass for anyoneon any side to threaten ANYONE is wrong you know what i wa sput through by that group of people as were others dont worry police are aware about that too...

The number of trolls in relation to Forum and Blog Members is minimal and if the McCanns are trying to get them banned I suggest we have a whip round for some Members to take the McCanns to Court.

It was taken out of context, she was speaking about the starting pistol. But that wouldn't sell tabloid newspapers, and excite the rabble.

And just how many people will go right onto FB now, to see it for themselves? And have their eyes opened to a lot of other facts in the process. Another own goal, Clarence!

While I in no way at any time condone any sort of threat to any person’s life, Kate (if she is worried at all) will perhaps have experienced the same feeling that Madeleine felt when she was left baby sitting her twin siblings every night by her parents on their 'family holiday'. (Kate and Gerry admitted to doing this on TV

However, while Kate is a fully mature woman and a trained doctor with all adult coping mechanisms and support available at her disposable, Madeleine, aged only 3 years was left crying for over a hour in a dark strange apartment with only her twin 18 month old siblings for company…

And Kate’s reaction on prime time tv to her missing daughters comment, "Where were you mummy when I was crying"…….

Mitchell seems to be the one calling the comment a "death threat". Even the Scotland Yard spokesman views the posts as "comments".

You'd think a couple of educated people like the McCanns would speak out and disown such low life, but they're silent on this matter. They're obviously quite happy to go along with a newspaper taking seriously what is clearly a bad taste joke, but their silence tells me they accept the vile abuse that pond life like Muratfan hurl at others. That should tell us something quite significant about the McCanns.
