whilst I don't doubt that G McC was drunk that night, wasn't he with the PJ in the apartment at 1 o clock and I would believe the PJ. The farmer may have seen G McC that night but the timing isn't correct if you take all the other statements into account, and who knows what is and isn't right..

Irwin was the name of two sisters who were guests at the OC that week.

In my opinion, whether Gerry McCann was in the company of the PJ or not, he, along with his wife, was too busy making phone calls to get drunk.

I fail to see how something like this can be wiped from Police records. If the information is input to a computer system, surely even if deleted a computer expert would be able to extract it again. So many times people believe they have successfully deleted something only to find a forensic examination of the computer retrieves it.

Also it would be an illegal act to deliberately wipe a Police record, so equals another crime being committed.

And is Mr Amaral blaming the PJ or another Police force?

As for Gerry being drunk, yes quite possible during their meal, but I do not see how that would prevent him making phone calls. As for later and walking the streets with a bottle in his hand, could that not be mistaken identity?

If Mr Amaral cannot confirm precisely what time the McCanns were with the PJ, then that is something else that is seriously wrong here.

Police logs must record even the basics, like what times the Police arrived, what time they were with the McCanns, how long they were with them, etc. Failure to do so would be detrimental to the case and the damage is done I'm afraid.

it was Furtardo who told journalists that he had seen and heard G McC drunk and shouting something in Portuguese, not Dr G Amaral.
