The boyfriend of a missing Chandler woman has been named a suspect in her disappearance, and police are investigating the case as a homicide, court documents show.
Police have obtained a search warrant for a storage locker that Rick Wayne Valentini rented after the disappearance of his girlfriend, 32-year-old Jamie Laiaddee, according to documents filed in Maricopa County Superior Court. Valentini also used Laiaddee's car and credit cards to buy pornography after her disappearance, police said.
He was indicted earlier this week on forgery, credit card theft weapons charges. Valentini, who also used the alias Bryan Stewart for the past nine years, is being detained without bond in the Maricopa County Jail.
Laiaddee had been missing for 10 weeks by the time Valentini called her father on May 28 to tell him she was missing. Her father, Sompongse Laiaddee, said Valentini called at the urging of Jamie's friends.
"I said, 'Why are you calling me now?' " Laiaddee said.
Valentini incorrectly told Laiaddee it was because only Jamie's mother or father could report her missing.
Laiadee immediately called Chandler police, who began investigating Jamie's disappearance.
Officers went to her home in Chandler and found her car in the garage and personal items. They also found "an unidentified red substance on the entryway and kitchen floors of the house," according to court documents.
Officers tried to contact Laiadee on her cell phone but were unsuccessful. Neighbors said that no one had been seen at the house for at least a month.
Valentini was traced to a Scottsdale apartment, which he began renting on March 15. They also found a car owned by Jamie. Valentini told officers that Jamie said she was moving to Colorado and the couple broke up. He said the last time he saw or heard from Jamie was March 18.
Her friends told investigators they they last saw Jamie March 17. They created a page, Help Find Jamie Laiaddee, on Facebook seeking any clues about her disappearance.
Jamie's father, who lives in California, said he fears the worst but is hoping for another explanation about her whereabouts.
"I think maybe he (Valentini) killed her or something. I have no idea," Laiaddee said.
He also said jewelry and other valuables he and his wife gave to Jamie appeared to be missing when he went to her house June 4.
"Everything's messy. My daughter would never leave the house like that. All the expensive stuff was gone. I think he took everything out that he could sell," Laiaddee said.
Although Jamie's father holds hope his daughter will be found, her mother and older sister are less optimistic.
"I cannot take it. My wife warned me to go to therapy, but I tell her no I can't do that. I just hope that she's still alive," he said.

Missing Woman's Parents Make Desperate Plea
Missing Woman's Parents Make Desperate Plea
Jamie Laiadee Has Not Been Seen For 3 Months

CHANDLER, Ariz. -- A desperate plea Sunday night from a missing woman's parents, and new details into the relationship with the man police said might know what happened to her.
Words in English don't come easily to Vunnee and Sompongse Laiaddee, but if words are what it takes to get their daughter back, then this pair will talk to anyone who will listen.
"I need your help, I need your help to find her, please, please," said Vunnee Laiaddee.
"Please, if anybody sees Jamie, please call the police for me, please," added Sompongse Laiaddee.
That's why the Laiaddees camped out outside a Chandler movie theater Sunday afternoon, passing out fliers in the hopes someone has seen their daughter.
Laiaddee. 32, was last seen on St. Patrick's Day. She was reported missing on May 28, 10 weeks after anyone had seen her.
Then police found Laiaddee's live-in boyfriend. She knew him as Bryan Stewart, but it turns out his real name is Rick Valentini. He's a former military man court martialed on aggravated assault charges.
Friends said the two met in Arizona at a University of Michigan alumni event three years ago. Laiaddee went to school there, and Stewart-Valentini claimed he did too.
"He must know something. How did he get her car? That's what I want to know," explained Sompongse Laiaddee.
When police busted Valentini after Laiaddee disappeared, they said he was driving her car and using her credit cards. But he won't tell police anything about where she might be.
Friends said Jamie kept mostly to herself, so no one was shocked when they hadn't heard from her in awhile. Her dad called police when he hadn't gotten a call or an e-mail in months.
Jamie's parents and friends told CBS 5 Valentini wasn't abusive, although a friend said over the past year she'd been distancing herself from others.
If you have any information on Jamie Laiaddee's whereabouts, call Chandler police or Silent Witness at 1-800-343-TIPS or 480-WITNESS.

CHANDLER, AZ - Police are asking for the public to stay vigilant as they continue to investigate the disappearance of a Chandler woman who was last seen in March.
Chandler Police spokesman Sgt. Joe Favazzo said 32-year-old Jamie Laiaddee's father reported his daughter missing on May 28.
She was reportedly last seen by her boyfriend Brian Stewart on March 18 at her Chandler home.
According to Favazzo, investigators identified Stewart as Rick Wayne Valentini and found he had been using Laiaddee's vehicle and credit card for weeks following her disappearance. He is reportedly considered a "person of interest" in Laiaddee's disappearance.

There is no information to lead investigators to believe Laiaddee is located in these areas, but fearing she may be dead, police are asking that anyone who visits the areas call police should they find anything suspicious.
Friends of Laiaddee have created a Facebook page called " Help Find Jaime Laiaddee ."

SCOTTSDALE - Chandler Police want anybody who frequents the Mogollon Rim and Gateway Mountain to keep their eye out for anything suspicious.
Police are still investigating the disappearance of 33-year-old Jamie Laiaddee. Her boyfriend has been taken into custody on charges separate from her disappearance, including using her credit cards while she was missing. He's considered a person of interest in the investigation -- police do not have enough evidence to charge him with anything else.
Police have learned that Laiaddee's boyfriend, Rick Wayne Valentini, aka Bryan Stewart, is an avid camper known to camp on Mogollon Rim off of Fire Rd 300. He also hikes the Gateway Mountain near Thompson Peak Pwy and Bell Rd every week.
Police have no reason to believe Laiaddee is staying in these areas -- however, if Laiaddee is deceased, police want anyone using those recreational areas to keep an eye out for evidence or anything suspicious.
Laiaddee's parents have not seen or heard from her since before St. Patrick's Day.
Valentini is being held on charges of credit card fraud, theft of credit cards, probation violation, identity theft, weapons violations, and a warrant. He works as a personal trainer, while Jamie works as a medical sales assistant.

Boyfriend of missing Arizona woman held as police seek more clues
By the CNN Wire Staff June 29, 2010 9:52 p.m. EDT
The boyfriend of Jamie Laiaddee said he last saw her after they argued and broke up on March 17.
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
* Jamie Laiaddee last seen March 18
* Disappearance not reported for 10 weeks
* Boyfriend found driving Laiaddee's car, using her credit cards, police say
* "We fear that she could be dead," police spokesman says
(CNN) -- The boyfriend of a missing Arizona woman is being held without bond on fraud and other charges while police seek additional information into his girlfriend's disappearance, Chandler police said Tuesday.
Jamie Laiaddee went missing from the home she shares with her boyfriend in the early morning hours of March 18, police said.
At first, friends and family didn't think too much about the lapse in communication with their loved one -- the 32-year-old Laiaddee usually got in touch with them every few weeks and it was not uncommon for her to go months without calling her parents, according to Chandler police spokesman Sgt. Joe Favazzo.
It wasn't until 10 weeks later, on May 28, that Laiaddee's father officially reported her missing to police after learning of his daughter's disappearance from her boyfriend of three years -- identified by Chandler police and friends as Bryan Stewart.
Upon searching the couple's home, authorities found Laiaddee's car, purse, keys and other personal effects.
As part of their investigation, authorities also discovered that Stewart had been living under a false name for the past eight years. His real name is Rick Wayne Valentini and he is 41, Favazzo said.
Court documents refer to Valentini by his assumed name.
Stewart was apprehended by police at a Scottsdale apartment after investigators learned he had an outstanding traffic-related arrest warrant. When he was found, he was "in possession of a vehicle owned by Jamie," according to police.
Stewart, who police said is the last person to see Laiaddee, told investigators that he and Laiaddee had an argument on March 17 and broke up after she told him she was taking a new job in Denver, Colorado, Favazzo said.
"At this point we have no evidence whatsoever to indicate Jamie" planned to leave, "and certainly not to Colorado," Favazzo said.
Police said Stewart had been driving Laiaddee's car and using her credit cards in the weeks after her disappearance.
He is being held without bond in the Maricopa County jail on charges of credit card fraud, theft of credit cards, probation violation, identity theft, weapons violations and an outstanding warrant, according to police.
"Investigators are now focusing on Stewart/Valentini as a person of interest in the disappearance of Jamie Laiaddee," according to a Chandler Police Department news release about the case.
Favazzo said Tuesday that police "don't believe Jamie just dropped off the grid."
"We suspect foul play at this point and we fear that she could be dead," he said, adding that authorities are imploring the public for any leads to Laiaddee's whereabouts.
Friends of Laiaddee's who have set up a Facebook page to raise awareness about her disappearance describe the 1999 University of Michigan graduate as "bubbly," "outgoing" and "fiercely loyal."
"We are devastated by the news," friend Sheila Dubs told HLN's "Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell" on Tuesday.

Re: Jamie Laiadee's boyfriend didn't report her disappearance for two months.
Thank you for those very informative articles Antoinette. And did you add a photo to the OP? Thanks for that too!
Seems quite obvious that the boyfriend is responsible here. Very sad for this young woman's family.

Yes added it to the top so she can be seen, It looks very obvious to me that the boyfriend is involved also. Very strange that he is claiming they broke up the day before she disappeared also.

Thanks for the photo Antoinette. I was in a hurry because I thought I had to go to work, but I don't have to be there until lunchtime.
