Lauryn Dickens: Missing two weeks unreported.
http://www.thehinkymeter.com/
In a case that at first glance appears to have “shades of Casey” written all over it, a 9-month old baby girl, Lauryn Dickens, has been missing since September 7th – according to her mother, Shakara Dickens. Shakara claims she gave Lauryn up to a friend of Lauryn’s father after speaking with him about it. But Lauryn’s father, Benjamin Norfleet, is sitting in jail and states he knows nothing about the situation. The friend Shakara states she handed Lauryn off to is described, by Shakara, as being a white middle-aged woman between 40 and 50 years of age, with gray shoulder-length hair who wore glasses, a white blouse, khaki pants and sandals.
Memphis police apparently didn’t buy the story. They obtained a search warrant to search Shakara’s Raleigh, Tennessee apartment and took Shakara into custody Tuesday night. Charges have not yet been announced. Technicians were seen carrying evidence sacks out of the apartment along with baby toys during the search.
So aside from giving her baby to a total stranger who apparently does not exist in the baby’s life the way Shakara claims (i.e. “friend” of father), the more disturbing part of this story is that Shakara did, in fact, report Lauryn missing – after 10 days. That, and it is reported a cadaver dog hit on a scent during the search of the apartment.

What the hell is going on that parents and step parents are murdering their children in such numbers?
Is it that there is an increase of such cases the world over? is it just that it is being reported more? Could it be that parents saw that the gruesomes got away with it and think they can get away with it too?
If you cannot look after your kids or no longer want them hand them over to social services or the cops or even your local church who will know what to do. Don't go around killing them because they are interrupting your me time, don't kill them because feeding and lcothing them means you have less money to spend on booze and drugs.
if you can't look after kids then don't get bloody pregnant .
If you do then put them up for adoption if you cannot or will not have a termination.
Don't have kids because you see them as a fashion accessory or because you get extra cash.
Don't expect babies and toddlers to look after you or be your best buddy, kids are selfish little bastardsm the world revolves around them and they have to be taught to share and to be sociable.
yet another innocent who suffered at the hands of the one person meant to love care and protect her.

Hobnob, unfortunately, horrible things like this have been going on since time immemorial. The difference is that we are more aware of these cases of child abuse and murders because they are reported in the media and also because of our interest in the Maddie case. Even in murder there is nothing new under the sun.

Very true but there does seem to be a spate of child murders at the moment all along the lines of a 'stranger'abduction' yet which on closer investigation the vidence points to the involvement of a parent/step-parent.
It is almost as if the ramseys set the standard and then others have tried to improve upon it so as to blame everyone else including the generic bushy-haired man, black/hispanic/gypsy man or the infamouse non existent hispanic nanny.
John Walsh, America's Most Wanted, and Marc Klass, have both been the voice for families of missing children. They have turned tragedy into help for others. They both have laid out the blue print on what a family should and should not do, when a child is reported missing.
Because statistics show a missing child is both likely taken by a family member AND the first 48-72 hours are critical to finding the child alive, Walsh and Klass urge family to:
1. Have the home thoroughly searched
2. Take an immediate polygraph; within the first hours
3. Offer any assistance to police
4. Stay clear of lawyers
This is done so that the innocent family can be immediately cleared and the business of finding the missing child, under that terrible "death clock" (where statistically, the likelihood of death grows with each passing hour), can resume searching outside of the immediately family.
Any deviation from this advice could be deadly.
But as investigators know,
any deviation from this advice points to the family as perpetrators.
OBJECTION: Why is it wrong to hire an attorney?
RESPONSE: An innocent family member does not need an attorney; especially later on. If someone is falsely accused, they can always get an attorney later.
Hiring an attorney does two things:
1. It delays the investigation. This hindrance can be as simple as the time it takes to get an attorney, to the delay in communication from said attorney for permission to search or interview right down to:
2. Attorneys silence their clients.
Remember the case of the Ramseys. They immediately hired high priced attorneys. Critical interviews went through ridiculous delays and it is reported that they shopped around for a polygraph result that would be favorable to them (it was reported that they failed several and finally found one polygrapher who "cleared" them; though the attorneys would not release the results; but would only allow the polygrapher to be interviewed).
The critical delays can ruin an investigation.
Innocent victims of a missing child do not need an attorney UNLESS they have done something that needs defense. Such is the case of George and Cindy Anthony.
Of course, shills for attorneys (or shills for the Anthonys) say that people need attorneys as spokesmen. Why would someone need a lawyer to speak for them? "To handle media"? What does that even mean?

Have to agree with you about the hiring of lawyer/attorneys - the Police in UK have a terrible time because of the delays - what they can/cannot say without them being present - totally fouls up the investigating and possible prosecution.

answer: Yes, there is "a book" on post crime behavior, with mountains of psychological studies on how people behave.

So that would be a book of how NOT to behave if you are innocent.
Pity they had not seen that one in time to get the benefit of it. Instead kate thinks sorrowfully that it must be her lack of maternal aspect ie thin frame, that is causing people to doubt her maternal instincts and innocence.
