57 arrested in National Police swoop against child pornography in Spain
98 searches were carried out across the country
More than 100 people have been arrested or indicted today, Friday, in a police swoop from the National Police against child pornography across the country. In fact there are 57 arrests and 47 indicted.
Several women have been detained for being the owners of certain telephone lines.
Reports indicate that among those arrested are policemen, company directors, students and unemployed, and that one of those arrested is a producer of pornographic material from Parla in Madrid. He had taken photos and video of two of his families children aged 7 and 14, but most of the material impounded came from Latin America and Eastern Europe.
The operation is codenamed ‘Nordic’ and 400 National Police took part in some 97 searches of premises and homes in several Spanish provinces. The name comes from the fact that the National Police have used new software, developed by the police in Norway, which searches e-Mule archives.

Ok. How long will it be until the "new crack team" are demanding to see the files from the Spanish investigation so that they can blame the Spanish Paedophile Ring? This must be an absolute gift to the McCanns.

The reason there aren´t any in UK fred is because all the known ones in UK manage to leave the country and come over here so that the Spanish police can find and arrest them, there have been more than a few cases of this happening. What I don´t understand is how these criminals manage to simply walk out of UK when they are on bail, or whatever, but they do. There must be a huge business in fake passports is all I can think of.

It is easy to get a fake passport in the U.k. Got to Somerset House, go through the archives, find some around your age who has died apply for a birth certificate, then apply for a passport.

VIOLENT GANG OF BRITISH BANK ROBBERS ARRESTED (7 of them I think, without looking)
and thats just the last week or so and headlines.

Not so easy now, that little loophole was closed some time ago. There are still forgers who can provide fake passports though, if you have the right connections!!!!!

The whole world and its dog know that you don't need a passport to simply walk in to the UK, so why would you need one to simply walk out?

Hahaha, I have a Belgian passport and all you used to need for one of them was a photocopier and a green crayon!
Some of the 9/11 bombers travelled on forged Belgian passports, so right after that they overhauled the whole system in a big way. Everybody had to get new passports, with a biometric chip in, and security for getting one was really tightened up. Unfortunately I feel they rolled out the technology before it was ready, because after only about 3 years the biometric chip in mine started to flake off (it was supposed to last for 10 years) and so I had to get another new passport because the one I had was no longer valid. Now there was a nice little money spinner for the Government!
Alternatively, you could always approach the Mossad, I believe they do quite a nifty line in forged UK passports

I´m sure you are right. A couple of years ago a friend´s daughter flew out here to visit her mum, she flew from Manchester, on arrival here she was stopped, her passport was 8 months out of date !!! It was a bit of a hassle but a phone call and trip to the British High Commission got it sorted...........at great expense. Obviously security is not as good as they try to make us believe.

It does not say what nationality the arrested people are but if they are policemen, company directors, etc. it means they are employed in Spain so implies either they are Spanish or have lived there sufficient time to be able to gain this type of employment there. It also mentions unemployed people - again if they are claiming benefits they must be entitled to do so, so must either be Spanish or be at least legally entitled to those benefits.
Lastly it mentions students - oh dear me the very people the McCanns are relying on.
I am quite sure their computers and mobile phones will be forensically scrutinised and I am quite sure those arrested would, as a matter of course, be investigated for other unsolved child abuse cases.
However, if the numerous offenders that have been arrested over the last three years have yielded nothing so far, and scrutiny of computers and mobiles have also yielded nothing to date, then I remain doubtful that this haul of low life will yield anything either.
In fact I am sure the McCanns will be uncomfortable with the fact that people from such respected walks of life have been arrested in connection with paedophilia.
Now, if it was 100 swarthy gypsies, they would be shouting it from the roof tops!
