Blair has a bl***y nerve to take any money , how many thousands is it? for his role as roving Ambassador to the Middle East.

The worry is though, that now Lebanon is involved as well as some small African Countries , even Russia is showing signs of unrest, as is China. It's almost like a plague sweeping around the World and no one seems to know what to do or have any influence any more.

I think Britain should be like Switerland , stay out of the EU and declare itself a nuetral Country.

I think it is the African Countries getting involved Badboy, so many terrorist organistations springing up, no one knows whose who any more . It is the fact that they are getting Arms aplenty which is most worrying..these are poor Countries so which rich Countries are supplying them.???

Hi Panda

I feel the sudden outpouring of revolutions in the middle East, and the so called Arab Spring are not really about democracy. I personally believe the terrorist and extreme factions such as al Queda, ISIS, the Muslim brotherhood, have orchestrated it all for their own ends. To oust the ruling regimes, Mubarak, in Egypt, Gaddafi, in Libya, etc.

It was never about democracy as we understand the word because the western concept of it is utterly alien to Islam. The goal there is a global Caliphate. The difference being one man would run the world, as against one country. This is not democracy.

Islam stifles innovation and democracy by it's very nature. Pre Islam the Arabs gave us a great deal of culture and contributed enormously to science. They even put the zero into arithmetic, which if you think about it is why I can write this and you can read it. The whole edifice being built on the binary code 0 and 1.

Since Islam what have they done? the oil is there, but while they may get rich from it's extraction, they don't extract it. expats do almost all work.

This is why I believe the terrorist networks have orchestrated these upheavals. To destabilise the countries, so that their own people can get in.

In that respect, the house of Saud knew what they were doing, when they took the strongest tribe on, and formed them into what they are pleased to call a National Guard. They literally have the very very best of everything, and as a result have a vested interest in things staying as they are. They may be called the National Guard, but in reality are the royal families bodyguards.

Morning katertaif, so the poor will remain poor and uneducated and all the deaths and destruction of Cities which has resulted in millions of innocent people living in tents because their homes have been destroyed . What about the children? will they ever be educated ?Will the Refugee camps produce more radical movements?

These are some of the oldest civilisations but the most barbaric.

Good Morning Panda

Yes they are the oldest, and most barbaric civilisations. The main problem being that the taking of life doesn't mean to us what it does to them. How often in this Arab spring have we heard something like, I will shed the last drop of my blood, or they can kill me. You never hear things like that in the west (it's coming but not yet)

Islam is hidebound and inflexible. Muslims are destined for paradise, Infidels for hell. After 9/11 the hate mongers on our streets spouted that any Muslims killed in that atrocity were also martyrs, and going to paradise. In their twisted minds the murderers were doing them a favour.

Age and gender play no part, Innocent women and children caught in the fighting are also martyrs, and that's that. You must also remember that in their (what passes for a brain) women are of far less value that men. What happens to them is unimportant.

Then we have the situation in the refugee camps, who is trying to relieve their suffering? The western world. In addition we resettle as many as we can. you can guarantee there will be some 5th columnists in there.

So yes, the women and children will remain at risk and uneducated. The alleged freedom fighters from Britain don't give a damn. When the Taliban retake control in Afghanistan, the position of women will be even worse. They were (and will be again) forbidden any schooling at all. Civilised did we say?

This is the problem badboy, they just never stop fighting among themselves, and anyone in the area gets caught up in it. They are fighting over interpretations in this Qu'ran of theirs. usually very minor interpretations sometimes a single verse. That is the same as two Christian sects going to war over what exactly happened to Judas afterwards. It's nonsensical, but all they understand.

They say Islam will triumph globally, but what then?

Sunni Vs Shi'ite Vs  Alawite? Is what they want? In the meantime how many atrocities such as 9/11 or kidnapping those almost 300 Nigerian girls will they commit?

It just never ends does it? The so called Arab spring seems to have been nothing but a "spring" board for the Muslim brotherhood al Queda etc. etc. etc.to establish themselves and destabilise rather than stabilise.

So the new golden age we helped set up after they got rid of Gaddaffi didn't last very long did it? When will our leaders learn that democracy plays no part in Islam?

Of course there has. they cannot even agree among themselves, let alone with us.

It is an unfortunate fact that such places need a strong ruthless leader and democracy plays no part in sharia. What we perceive as the brutal acts of an egomaniac dictator, they see as perhaps a trifle unfortunate, but for the most part they put up with it.

We come along, and help the discontented to replace the dictator. The result then is anarchy. democracy not being an option. How often we have seen it, and how often do we need to see it before western leaders get the message.
