I find it very convenient for Obama what with his troubles with 'birthgate' and all brewing up.Like the old days when the kings would serve up a few nasty heads on plates to keep the crowds happy.
Course we've got plenty of baddies around at the moment so we wont particularly miss this one.
Did they take a DNA lab with them to get the results out so quick.Bin LIner had plenty of sprogs,about 20+ is the estimate,and a few 'half brothers' and a sister and probably quite a few other 'inbreds'.
And please tell me the Yanks would give this devil a respected burial.Dont give me all this 'must respect religion' garbage.This man was hated Worldwide by all decent people so no 'respect' was due here.

The most amazing thing is that in th "situation room" in the White House, Obama, Hilary Clinton and key Personnel
were watching events as they unfolded......did the Navy Seals have Cameras strapped to their Hard Hats? There is
a picture of everybody in the Situation Room tensely watching events unfold. Osama was the 7th Son of 50 children
his Father sired....he didn"t need IVF did he.!!!!

It wasn"t just honouring the Islamic burial rule, the Americans, rightly in my opinion, didn"t want a burial on land
because they thought it would become a shrine and create more attacks in the U.S. Yes,. Obama has definitely
improved his popularity, a standing ovation from both Parties of LawMakers and good write-ups in the Press.

President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are among those receiving an update on the mission against Osama bin Laden in the Situation Room of the White House (AP/The White House)US President Barack Obama was able to monitor the raid that led to the death of Osama bin Laden "in real time" from the White House.

Mr Obama watched events unfold sitting in the White House Situation Room, thousands of miles away from the al Qaida leader's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

In one picture released by the White House, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sits near the president, her hand covering her mouth. Mr Obama is leaning forward in his chair in the same photograph, watching intently as the raid takes place.

His counter-terrorism adviser John Brennan described the high levels of tension as the mission went on, the president fearing for the safety of those attempting to capture bin Laden.

"It was probably one of the most anxiety filled periods of time I think in the lives of the people who were assembled here," said Mr Brennan. "The minutes passed like days. The president was very concerned about the security of our personnel.

"That was what was on his mind throughout and we wanted to make sure we were able to get through this and accomplish the mission. But it was clearly very tense, a lot of people holding their breath, and there was a fair degree of silence as it progressed as we would get the updates.

"When we finally were informed that those individuals who were able to go in that compound and found an individual that they believed was bin Laden, there was a tremendous sigh of relief that what we believed and who we believed was in that compound was actually in that compound and was found. The president was relieved once we had our people and those remains (of bin Laden) off target."

He added that the mission was watched "in real time" by Mr Obama and senior US government officials, but he would not divulge details of the kind of footage they had access to. What Mr Brennan would say was: "It gave us the ability to actually track it on an ongoing basis."

It has emerged that bin Laden used one of his wives as a human shield in a bid to protect himself and that she too was killed. Mr Brennan said that action revealed "the nature of the individual he was".

Watching a news interview from Pakistan a couple of hours ago, and they're also considering the possibility that OBL was shot by his own guard (to prevent him being captured and questioned)

Carmen, I saw that report and if you saw the photograph of the room where Bin Laden died, you have to wonder at
the state of it. The Building is shown as large with a high wall surrounding it , who else lived in the House? I would
still like to know how the Seals managed to film it simultaneously beamed to the White House.

There's lots of things that don't add up with this....

There's never been a new photo released of Bin Laden in the last few years, only tape recordings which could be faked, so l am inclined to believe he died a while ago. But, if he died years ago wouldn't his 'death' have been known about during George W Bushs presidency?

All this 'religious burial' crap - if true l'm incensed - his victims never got the chance for their burials, there were also muslims killed in the twin towers, the Pentagon and on Flight 93 why did the biggest killer of recent mankind get the burial he wanted when they couldn't??

BTW is it true Prince Harrys gone missing after a fancy dress party in Pakistan???

Bin Laden has now been killed nine times! I guess, like the proverbial cat, he may just have run out of lives!

YES Margaret, Pakistan is in such a shambolic state that only 1% of the population pays Tax, yet the Goverment is spending $3.5 Billion on Arms, from America and other Countries. It"s thought that Pakistan has several Terrorist
organisations there and Musharraf"s hands are tied.

The American Government gave the aid specifically to stop Pakistan accommodating terrorist training camps etc
and the reason Musharraf does not want the Aid from the U.S.to stop is because they need the money to buy arms and Planes to protect themselves from India........what a Mess.!!!!

The US has backed away from its initial account of the killing of Osama bin Laden, which claimed that the al-Qaida leader was carrying a weapon and fired at US troops before he was shot dead.

On Monday, John Brennan, a counterterrorism adviser to Barack Obama, said Bin Laden was "engaged in a firefight" with his assailants and he did not know if he "got off any rounds". Other US officials briefed that he was firing at members of the US navy's elite Seal Team Six.

However, subsequent briefings by US officials suggest that, when confronted at the high-security complex in Abbottabad, Bin Laden did not have a weapon and did not fire at his assailants. With some questions being raised as to why Bin Laden was shot dead, and whether he was executed, rather than taken into custody, Brennan said: "If we had the opportunity to take Bin Laden alive, if he didn't present any threat, the individuals involved were able and prepared to do that."

Officials have continued to imply he offered resistance before he was shot but have not clarified the extent of that resistance, given that he apparently did not have a weapon. Bin Laden was shot once above the left eye and once in the chest. The Obama administration is considering whether to release photographs of his burial at sea.

There were additional changes to the original narrative offered by US officials. Reporters were initially told that one of Bin Laden's wives was killed while he was using her as a human shield, prompting headlines such as "Osama bin Laden killed cowering behind his 'human shield' wife". But it has since been clarified that Bin Laden's wife was shot in the calf and did not die in the assault, although another woman was killed. This change of account has also raised questions over whether Bin Laden's wife - or anyone else - was being used as a human shield.

One US official told Politico: "Two women were shot here. It sounds like their fates were mixed up. This is hours old and the full facts are still being ascertained as those involved are debriefed."

As well as amending the condition of Bin Laden's wife, US officials have also changed the name of which of his sons was killed during the raid. The dead son was initially named in press reports as Hamza, described in one article as Bin Laden's "presumed heir" to the leadership of al-Qaida, apparently based on the official White House transcript of a Brennan briefing. However, Brennan said during the briefing that it was another son, Khalid, who was killed.

Qualifying the narrative of the assault that he offered to reporters, Brennan explained that some of the information came from live video feeds of the raid. "I wasn't there," he said.

I couldn"t believe the state of the Roomconsidering it was such a big Building. I tell you what it reminds me of, the
supposed rescue of a young female soldier in Hospital in Iraq. The Doctors were very puzzled saying she was being treated well and not in any danger. The young Soldier was feted all over the U.S.
