Missing Dutch tourist found alive in Nerja this morning

Mary Anne Goossens, the Dutch tourist who disappeared from Nerja eighteen days ago has been found alive by three ramblers in the Rio Chillar valley early this, Wednesday, morning.

June 16th, registered in the Bajamar Hotel and paid for her room until June 22nd. She left her credit cards unused in her hotel room, and foreigners and locals have been searching for her since her disappearance was reported by her family on the 22nd.
She was found conscious, but trapped in a well in a remote part of the Chillar valley walk. Three young walkers came across her today in the area known as Cortijo El Imán, Barranco del Infierno and Cortijo del Cuervo.
Protección Civil, Firemen from
both Nerja and Vélez-Málaga and local police went to the scene, but for the main rescue the SERIM mountain rescue unit of the Guardia Civil was called in by helicopter from Granada province.
She is not reported to have been injured, just trapped, and survived thanks to a small waterfall from which she could drink.

I am glad about this - it must have been an awful experience. Thank goodness for these ramblers who found her. Always a good idea to have companions when trekking/rambling.
