Two Young Brothers Missing in Madrid found alive at the Bottom of a Well

Two young brothers who had been missing from their home in Torrelaguna since Sunday were found alive on Tuesday afternoon, at the bottom of a 15-metre well in Algete, some 30 kilometres from their home in Torrelaguna.

It’s understood that there is some water in the well, but it was not deep enough to cover their bodies.

Firemen used ropes and harnesses to rescue the two boys, aged eight and ten, after they were spotted by a passerby. They appear to be in good health despite their experience.

Their Romanian mother had initially feared that her ex husband could have kidnapped her children. He is understood to live in Germany and has a restraining order in place for abuse.

El País reports that the Civil Guard are now investigating the two brothers’ claim that a man from Morocco had put them in the well.

Another swarthy culprit then? I'm glad the boys have been found, it's a sorry state when this happened, yet it hadn't made the media to publicise their disappearance, obviously they weren't blonde children of wealthy parents.

No doubt this story gives hope to the Mccanns.

Exactly marathon, we don't know what happened, but boys aged 8 and 10 are very adventurous like you say, and they can, and will describe someone quite well if they were taken against their will, and once again, make up stuff if they think they will get into trouble. My gripe with this is, that NO publicity was put around Europe (as far as I am aware) to publicise this "abduction" and no help to the parents. Yet Ms McCann is bleating constantly about her lack of help!!

It was certainly kept low key, that was the first and only report I saw. However I know the Spanish police do tend to work secretly and quietly until they have what they need, but it is possible it got more coverage in Madrid newspapers, I don´t know.
