Mcs didn't rate a mention in the final edition - allegedly. What a shame.

So if i read this correctly, the NOTW published stories which were not true to appease clients and PR, im waiting to know what clients and what PRs. Should be an interesting few weeks.

This is from "carmen's" OP NoTW Hacking Coulson Fallout

The McCanns got a tiny mention in the last NOTW, in the 2007 section. It says that Kate and Gerry McCann "report their daughter missing". And that's it.

Seems like you wouldn't need a vast conspiracy to cover something up. Just an "in" with someone senior in this media conglomerate is all you would need. Your PR guy can call them and they will let him write the lying "stories" word for word, as it is quite obvious Clarence had done. Getting him in there as PR man - he buys into a story line of abduction and swarthy corrupt policing - and then can't be seen to be wrong. And doesn't have to worry about that because he has the relationships with the media on the story of the decade, if they want access they need him.

Exactly my thoughts widowan. Mitchell's previous job with Media Monitoring afforded him a little black book full of strategically placed shady characters, which he arrogantly and endlessly exploited on behalf of the dodgy doctors McCann. With these dubious connections ready to act when called upon.... the Sky's the limit (so to speak!)

That's all it said in a tiny sub section on 2007, followed by Gordon Brown replaces Tony Blair as leader of the Labour Party and Prime Minister

The NOTW offered a large reward for Maddie didn't they? So it does speak volumes that the Macs were ignored

Is only me who is optimist hacic by the lack of news of McCanns phones being d hacked? I cant believe it hasnt happened but maybe is being silenced due to the on going review? Clarrie may be trying to get some info by seeing if his was hacked. I guess he would be more aware and careful what he said than the McCanns so could be sent out like a canary

The fact their ugly mugs arent on the front of every newspaper speaks volumes too IMO

In French newspapers they say that , according to the Daily telegraph, the phones of the Mccann have been tempered:

What if money changed hands though, for Clarrie's McSpin to be put into the papers? Or what if they hacked VMs that said "time for another pedo story, tell Edgar to find something, it's going to be a bad news week for us based on what's coming out of Portugal, we need a story fast!"

there are any number of things - what if the Fund was used to pay for these kind of stories to be printed and it was considered "marketing expense?"

Now that the papres have discredited NSY they have all the more reason to look into this very carefully to make sure THIS 3.5M pounds isn't wasted and they are seen to do a good and thorough job!

the papers in their attempt to save Murdoch's skinny neck have discredited Scotland Yard so that whatever they find someone won't believe them!
