POLICE believe they have found the body of murdered three-year-old girl BreeAnn Rodriguez 10 days after she disappeared from her Missouri home.

BreeAnn went missing on August 6 when she was briefly unattended while playing in front of her home in Senath, Missouri, about 150km north of Memphis, Tennesse.

Authorities said today that they had found remains they believed were BreeAnn's body near flood-way ditches northeast of Hornersville, Missouri.

Her remains were reportedly located by a police officer searching the area by boat.

The family's neighbor, Shawn Morgan, 43, was charged with first-degree murder on Saturday in connection with the disappearance of the little girl.

According to a probable cause of death affidavit released by authorities, Morgan told authorities he had used a white plastic trash bag to suffocate the child on August 6, before dropping her body in a flood-way ditch a few kilometres away, The Dunklin Democrat reported.
