Circumstances: Veronica Da Costa was last seen at approximately 9.00 am on the 6th of July 2009 when she left her friends address in the Bromley area and has not returned. There are concerns for her safety and wellbeing. Veronica was last known to have been wearing a blue dress, black leggings and flip flops. Croydon teenager Veronica DaCosta has been missing since July 6 this year.

"We really want to find her," explained Acting Sgt Howden. "She is a 15-year-old girl who has been missing for six months."

The schoolgirl had fallen out with her mum and been staying in Anerley before she disappeared. Acting Sgt Howden continued: "She has had some problems with her mum and was staying temporarily in Anerley when she went missing.

"We have had sightings of her in this area but she has not been in contact with her family for months.

"Her mum wants Veronica to know that she doesn't want to pressure her into coming home.

"She just wants to know she is okay."

Veronica's case is one of the Croydon missing persons unit's more worrying disappearances, but Acting Sgt Howden remains hopeful she will be found safe and well. "It concerns me because of how young she is," she explained. "She has no bank cards or travel cards, and no money. It is one we really are stuck with. We have cases where young girls have gone missing and been sexually exploited, we want to make sure this doesn't happen to Veronica."
