I wonder how much is in the fund......it would be good if she put one off those counters on her website so we could see the progress...but then again, we don't want the pros commenting about it.

She does say she will be there for the trial so I imagine she will want to get together with Goncalo to discuss their books, suing, mccanns. They have so much in common

I would rather she didn't disclose funds because as you say the pros would only accuse her. And this when their sainted heros' don't choose to disclose to us mere mortals where their "donated" £millions have been spent as well Grr!

I suppose she does know that the UK has different laws from the States, and that the First Amendment does not apply?

Personally, I suspect it is just the usual hot air and attention-seeking from pitchforkers. Her overgrown pamphlet was such trash, I am surprised she isn't ashamed of it.

It was not only error-ridden, it was outright libel.

Never mind, I am sure we are all looking forward to finding out how on earth she can claim that people who have never mentioned her name have libelled her.

It's coming to a very nice conclusion if you ask me.

Excellent news about both the suing and the visit to Portugal. I think it would be great if Pat were to meet Gonçalo Amaral while she's there, to discuss the case and the attempts to silence both of them. Somehow I think the longer this whole charade goes on, the more people will question the only version of events that's been allowed to be spun all over the world - I hope so anyway!

I don't understand why Pat goes for libel. Could anyone explain?

Thanks to all of you for this information , I bet the McCanns are spitting blood.!!!! Talk about the tables have turned, all we need now is for the British Press to leave the sinking ship and start telling it like it is. Who knows, if SY get to know of this, there may be an investigation ,not a review.???

When Pat Brown was interviewed on T.V. she said her theory was based on the information available,a bit like Amaral, I suppose both would have to prove Madeleine is dead, as the McCanns keep saying "there is no evidence that she is dead." A Judge would make a decision on the known evidence and the
law of averages I suppose since neither can prove their theories.

right but the mcanns can prove maddie was abducted either thats whatpros forget even what the mcanns say is hearsay

according to wikipedia libel is :

"(for written, broadcast, or otherwise published words)—is the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, or nation a negative image. It is usually a requirement that this claim be false and that the publication is communicated to someone other than the person defamed (the claimant)."

I haven't seen the McCanns writing anything about Pat but I haven't seen all of their broadcast interviews so there is obviously one somewhere that she thinks is libellous.

I can't see them getting Carter-Ruck to write to Amazon to pull her book being libellous (mind I don't know what the letter said). Pat did infer that they objected to the title as far as I can recall.

Have the McCanns bitten of more then they can chew with Pat Brown, one threat to many for the neglecting parents.

Carter Ruck/Mitchell your clients have to realise some people just do not do AS YOU TELL THEM!........

What on earth was wrong with "Profile of the Disappearance of Madeleine McCann" ?

I guess they didn't like that it said it was by 'Criminal Profiler Pat Brown' when the book didn't dance to their tune.

Pat has already said she won't back down. She is highly thought of in the US and said that US lawyers wouldn't have been able to get away with what Carter-Ruck have been doing over here on behalf of the McCanns. As she said and we know they have never been proved innocent.
