Findmadeleine.com Update
http://www.findmadeleine.com/index.html
As we approach the end of another year, we’d like to thank everyone again for their amazing support. It is both heart-warming and reassuring to know that after all this time Madeleine still remains in so many people’s hearts and minds. This solidarity and commitment gives us great hope. Thank you.
The Metropolitan Police Review of all the material in the inquiry has been underway for over eighteen months. We have been really impressed and greatly encouraged by the work which has been done and its findings to date which are revealing there are definitely many stones yet to turn. We continue to wait and hope that the Portuguese authorities will agree to reopen the case so that the many lines of enquiry can be investigated. As Madeleine’s parents, we won’t be able to rest until we know that all that can be feasibly done to find her, and the person who took her, has been done.
In the meantime, we will continue to do all that we can to aid the search for our daughter and assist the Review process.
This year, Madeleine’s Fund has paid for:
1. A 24 hour, 7 day a week telephone line to receive and capture information from around the world which may assist the investigation
2. A small investigation team, including a Portuguese speaker to help with the above and with campaign activities.
Since March 2012 independent ‘physical’ investigation of lines of enquiry by our team has been put on hold whilst the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) Review progresses. This has been to avoid duplication (and thereby unnecessary expenditure) and to prevent the risk of compromising any work, albeit unintentionally, carried out by the MPS. The private investigation team employed by the Fund continue to cooperate and work with the Metropolitan Police as and when necessary.
3. Part-time administrative support to aid the investigation and campaign to find Madeleine (campaign coordinator and media liaison)
4. The awareness-raising campaign to ensure that Madeleine is not forgotten and to encourage the general public to remain vigilant. This has included the running of the Find Madeleine website.
5. Assistance from a specialist Portuguese communications agency to ensure that our message is communicated as widely and accurately as possible in Portugal, where support and help to find Madeleine is especially needed.
We are very aware that without public help it will be virtually impossible to find Madeleine. It would have been incredibly difficult for us to have maintained a search for her this long without such support, including donations to the Fund. Due to the sales of my book, ‘Madeleine’, the financial position of the Fund has significantly improved from a year and a half ago so we would like to reiterate our gratitude to everybody who bought the book. This has helped the search in more ways than one. Whilst fund expenditure has decreased over the past six months (due to a reduction in investigation spending as outlined in point 2) the Directors feel it is important that the fund maintains reasonable reserves so that the search for Madeleine can be resumed quickly should the MPS review not lead to a reopening of the case in Portugal. We desperately hope of course that the official investigation to find Madeleine will be reopened – and soon – as we still believe this is probably our best chance of finding our little girl.
Despite becoming stronger in ourselves and being able to create as special a Christmas as possible for our children, this time of year will never be as it should without Madeleine. Whilst Gerry and I think it constantly, Sean and Amelie now vocalise it, especially when doing something really nice like putting up the decorations….”If only Madeleine was here too…”
If you know what has happened to Madeleine, or where she might be now, please, please do the right thing: Find the compassion and courage and let us know. Thank you.
This past weekend we sat and opened the many, many Christmas cards which have been sent to us, at what is now our sixth Christmas without Madeleine. The majority were from people we have never met. It was once again a very humbling yet totally uplifting experience. We are deeply touched by the thoughtfulness and compassion which we continue to experience and for the love and hope which shine through for Madeleine. Thank you so much. It means such a lot - and helps us immensely.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of our supporters. We wish you a festive period full of laughter,
warmth and friendship – and hope for a special 2013.

Couple of points:
Has Gerry gone awol again? His name hasn't even been put on the update.
The part I highlighted gives the impression that they are being given updates on the review but who knows....

Re: Findmadeleine.com Update
Thanks for that, chrissie!
Oh where to begin ...
First paragraph I initially thought was a preview of Her Maj's Christmas Day broadcast.
And now it seems, having dispensed with Edgar, they have another investigative team who are not ... ermm ... investigating - at least not physically, that is. That's probably akin to not physically searching.
Mentally searching? Spiritually searching? Praying? Sitting at the computer for hours, sipping tea?
5. Assistance from a specialist Portuguese communications agency to ensure that our message is communicated as widely and accurately as possible in Portugal, where support and help to find Madeleine is especially needed.
Ah, would this be the spectacularly successful Lift Consulting? ***irony alert ***
.”If only Madeleine was here too…”
Did anyone else feel queasy at this point?
Still, at least we know it's now officially Christmas - one can almost hear the festive clunking of begging bowls ... but it's a pity that Gerry didn't feel able to sign this very moving annual message.
On a more serious note, I've left this point until last - it's the one that chrissie made about the review, and it's very important.
The Metropolitan Police Review of all the material in the inquiry has been underway for over eighteen months. We have been really impressed and greatly encouraged by the work which has been done and its findings to date which are revealing there are definitely many stones yet to turn.
For the McCanns to be 'impressed' and 'encouraged' by the work done, they would have to have been told about the work.
For the McCanns to say that the reviews findings to date are revealing many stones yet to turn, then they must have been told about those findings to date.
Are we really to believe that the Met are keeping the McCanns in the picture about every operational detail? If we are, than that puts the Met in a very bad light, and heaven knows they don't need that right now.
So if this is not the case, I would urge them to pronounce on this matter asap for the sake of public trust.

As to your last point, I'm so disappointed, I initially thought the pat on the shoulder was for the great British public, nay! the world who are all out looking.
But it seems only the shoulders of the Met are being patted condescendingly by the Sainted Kate. (where's Wally?)
As to the 24-hour line - would that have been merged with the Missing People facility? Which is manned by volunteers? But which charity spends nearly all its income on wages for staff to the tune of 1.4 million a year? (They do at least submit detailed accounts).Might as well, more lines, more volunteers, no need to burden the Fund with even this expenditure.
Otherwise could Auntie Phil be supplied with a mobile free of charge from the Fund? There can be little expenditure here, for the calls would be incoming.
No physical searching has been done because the Met are on the case? But do you not know that the Met are reviewing the case? So no physical search whatsoever has taken place. There was no reason whatsoever to stop the search - correction - to search, as I'm not convinced a real search paid for by the Fund ever took place.

If you know what has happened to Madeleine, or where she might be now, please, please do the right thing: Find the compassion and courage and let us know. Thank you.
Surely that should have read:

No need to contact the middleman/woman/person when the police can be phoned directly.
An indirect chain of communication can cause all sorts of ... ahem ... confusion.

Such as recently explaining why the Fund could not be a charity. However, Missing People is a charity and a Ltd. Co. and they submit detailed accounts. So there is no earthly reason why the Fund should not be a charity.kitti wrote:She's been reading the forums regarding the 'fund'.
Moreover, the term 'Fund' is actively discouraged by Company House to be included in the name of a Ltd. Co. Seems there was an exception there as well.

Re: Findmadeleine.com Update
I sense the McCanns are trying to justify expenditure because
a) The accounts are due this week and since SY have been reviewing for 18 months the McCanns have no reason to spend any money. They don't even name the people who are continuing the search.
b) The Sun and Daily Mail mentioning the £300,000 paid to Halligen shows the McCanns that they cannot any more rely on the support of the Press and I bet they go through the accounts like the Daily Mail did on the first year accounts and proved that only 13% of the fund was spent on searching for Madeleine.
c) There is something going on behind the scene for them to feel the need to justify carrying on the search for Madeleine.
."Since March 2012 independent ‘physical’ investigation of lines of enquiry by our team has been put on hold whilst the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) Review progresses. This has been to avoid duplication (and thereby unnecessary expenditure) and to prevent the risk of compromising any work, albeit unintentionally, carried out by the MPS. The private investigation team employed by the Fund continue to cooperate and work with the Metropolitan Police as and when necessary."
What a fatuous remark to make, why wasn't a physical investigation put on hold when SY started the review which was meant to find leads not investigated by the Portugese to prove their negligence ?

Are the accounts filed today? They should be released into the public domain soon?
Their fund is charity the mccans said...but its not. The fund will be transparent the mcanns said...but its never been..Who is the fund administrator? why the secrecy and non transparency of who this mysterious person/persons are?...Transparency the mccanns said
When are the media going to report the fact that only 13% of the monies the public donated been spent on the search? Why are the media so spineless to report facts and are reporting "on message" instead...what are they protecting
This 'Christmas Message" imo is to pre-empt & counteract what we will be allowed to learn from this charitable transparent fund (that the mccanns say it is) when this years accounts are made public

jd16......the accounts are due to be published today , last year they were passed to Companies House at the last minute, this year if the accounts are not filed with Companies House today, the Company risks a fine. Since the last year has produced so little activity, minimum expense because there was no one actively looking for Madeleine , very little income apart from the Royalties of Kates' first book I don't understand the delay.
If the McCanns charge the Fund for all the money paid to Carter Ruck in the pursuit of Tony Bennett there will be nothing left and the Amaral case is due to be heard in January I think. Even if the McCanns win, they have no chance of receiving the E 1 million they are asking, Amaral is broke.

As Madeleine’s parents, we won’t be able to rest until we know that all that can be feasibly done to find her, and the person who took her, has been done.
Well in that case, they won't have been resting at this event. I'm sure they will have been working very very hard , scanning the crowd for the swarthy abductor:
Kate and Gerry McCann attend Everton FC match
THE parents of missing Madeleine McCann were welcomed to Everton FC’s clash with Chelsea yesterday by chairman Bill Kenwright.
Liverpool-born Kate McCann and her husband Gerry watched the Blues lose 2-1 to their London rivals in the televised match.
Mrs McCann is a well-known Everton fan and one of the first photos released of Madeleine after she vanished in 2007 showed her wearing a club shirt.
The club has been a high-profile supporter of the family’s search for Madeleine, who went missing during a family holiday to Portugal.
Mrs McCann’s parents live in south Liverpool and she grew up in Mossley Hill.

Re: Findmadeleine.com Update
I remember buckets being passed around to Everton spectators at one of their home matches, don't remember how much was raised.
On a Race Night held in a Pub in Liverpool , the event raised £5,000, but the McCanns said £2,000 on their Blog. However, the Pub Landlord got to hear of it and Gerry had to revise the figure, but since it was cash ....who knows how much was paid into the Bank Account.

Perhaps the landlord should have reported them to the Police and Companies House!
Also Clarrie telling people to send money in envelope addressed to Kate and Gerry is hardly
good practice, it cannot be accountable and is in no way how you run a "Fund" which is
taking public money!

Let's face it cherry, the McCanns have walked all over everybody, the Public, the Press, the Government , the Portugese and Leicester Police and got away with it , looks as if the Review has come up with nothing or we would know by now.
Have they really been that clever? or has there been some kind of blackmail going on?

I was watching Poirot yesterday, and he said something about the crime he was investigating that I feel applies 100% to the MM case. He said that those responsible for the murders had left unrelated complex clues to confuse the police. He said that this was a sign the crime was a simple one! I feel the truth about Maddie's demise is also uncomplicated and simple, and that most of the facts were out there in the public domain within a couple of weeks of her death, and TM have been very busy creating diversions and confusion ever since.

In the M & A there was reference to using Government , have a look at the M & A that Cherry posted yesterday. The person most important to the McCanns has been Clarence appointed by Gordon Brown. Now why would a Prime Minister send a PR within days, were not the McCanns intelligent enough to handle the Press,? why did Gordon not send a crack Agency experienced in finding missing children.?

There is no doubt they have created confusion, shutters open, shutters not open, back door locked, open, etc. etc., and anyone who knows about crime and how to get away with it or has done a bit of research in crime books would know that confusion is good when a crime has been committed.
It is also interesting the people who have come out and spoken out in support in this case, like Charles, Andrew, Brown, Johnson, OR people may think different.

Foreign Office alerted about the lack of co-operation of the Mccann with the Portuguese police
The Foreign Office was alerted to fears over Gerry and Kate McCann by a British diplomat in Portugal just days after their daughter Madeleine went missing. The diplomat was sent to the holiday resort of Praia da Luz in the days following the four-year-old's disappearance and soon became concerned over "inconsistencies" in the testimonies by her parents and their friends.
After visiting the McCanns, the unnamed diplomat sent a report to the Foreign Office in London, admitting his worries about "confused declarations" of the McCanns' movements on the night of May 3.
He also noted the couple's "lack of co-operation" with the Portuguese police.
The diplomat's concerns were made over four months before Gerry and Kate were named arguidos (suspects) on September 7.
Contents of the letter were leaked to Belgian newspaper La Dernière Heure over the weekend.
The diplomat expressed his fears after receiving instruction from the Foreign Office to provide "all possible assistance to the McCann couple".
The French-language paper printed excerpts of the letter, quoting the diplomat as saying: "With the greatest respect, I would like to make you aware of the risks and implications to our relationship with the Portuguese authorities, if you consider the possible involvement of the couple.
"Please confirm to me, in the light of these concerns, that we want to continue to be closely involved in the case as was requested in your previous message."

Re: Findmadeleine.com Update
Excellent reminder of that Matthew, and strangely none of those Mccann supporters ever
question the inconsistencies, the lies, discrepancies, the differing versions - yet they purport to want the
truth for Madeleine.
If people never continued to question the lies, differing versions, inconsistencies, discrepancies about Hillsborough none of that truth would ever have come out with people doing their best to stop the truth from being known. People were quite prepared to let the coverup remain regardless of how that would effect the families of the victims!
