frencheuropean wrote:If the 8 leads were that important , Metodo would have given only the pages related to the leads to S.Y. If SY took 30 boxes, that means they took the whole archives in order to check the leads but also the methodes of these detectives. They were also helped by Spanish policemen who , most probably, gave them some warnings about Metodo's background. It will be, imo, very easy for SY to see through Metodo's smoke screen. The question is : what will they do if they discover that Metodo's work was a huge fraud?
Morning frenchperson,
Metodo 3 did complain in an interview with ABCes (a subsidiary of the Guardian) that they did not receive the £50, 000 pm published in the U.K. Press.
They said they only received E160,000 plus E4,000 expenses for six months work. Also, the Hwead of the Agency went to Portugal for a meeting with
the Portugese Police accompanied by Brian Kennedy before the case was shelved so any genuine info would have been passed to them I"m sure.
Someone"s playing games here, not sure if it is SY or the McCann Mafia.

Hi Marxman, Iv"e been out for a few hours it"s b****y freezing outside now. It was the British Press who said they were being paid £50,000 a month,
unless we can see the accounts in full and not the potted version sent to Companies House, we don"t know exactly how miuch they were paid. There"s
a big difference between £50,000 a month and E27,000 according to Metodo 3. As far as I recall it was only a 3 man Agency , main business Fraud and
money laundering , so £50,000 would seem excessive.

Re: Metodo3 '8 important new leads with Scotland Yard'
gillyspot wrote:Scotland Yard detectives searching for Madeleine McCann are examining up to eight "very important" new leads after meeting Spanish private investigators, it was claimed today.
Four officers yesterday visited the Barcelona HQ of Metodo 3, the agency employed to look for her by Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry for six months after she vanished.
The British officers, from a 30-strong Met team reviewing the case, took away 30 boxes of documents compiled by the private detectives.
The agency's director, Francisco Marco, said there were "six, seven or eight very important leads" within the files which he claimed could help police to solve the case.
Madeleine, of Rothley in Leicestershire, disappeared from her parents' holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on the Algarve in Portugal in May 2007. She was days short of her fourth birthday.
It is the second visit by British officers, who were in Barcelona last month. Mr Marco said on Spanish TV today: "We have provided them with all the documents and information we have collated worldwide about Madeleine's disappearance so they can continue the investigations we carried out in Spain, Morocco and the rest of the world.
"I think there are six, seven or eight very important leads in there."
He claimed Portuguese police ignored the leads for political reasons, and that when his investigators visited Portugal, "we were never allowed to do a proper job. The English police are now continuing with an investigation which should never have been closed".
Asked if he believed Madeleine is still alive, Mr Marco said: "When we were investigating we were always trying to find a living child. Hopefully for the parents she will be found alive."
Madeleine's parents, who have younger twins, a boy and a girl, hired Metodo 3 to find Madeleine four months after she vanished, for a reported £50,000 a month.
The agency, which it was claimed had 40 staff working on the case, sent a team to Morocco to chase up leads that she might have been smuggled out of Portugal.
Today Mr Marco said he still believed that was "very possibly" what happened to her but he refused to give more details on the leads.

Typical Metado 3 spin.
Panda, l thought Metodo3 had very few staff but who claimed the above? 40 staff on the case and a total payment to M3 of £50k each month? I suppose it's true if you pay peanuts you get monkeys.

Re: Metodo3 '8 important new leads with Scotland Yard'
Hi Margaret, it was all b*****it, if you remember they bragged that Madeleine would be home by Christmas.....cruel thing to say. They were oobviously sacked by Brian Kennedy who was their "employer " since he held the Contract. Iv"e always been suspicious of the kind of Investigators Kennedy chose,
their main area of expertise was Fraud and Money Laundering . I wonder whether the Police interviewed Halligen while he was in Prison, no way was he
paid £300,000.!!!

Re: Metodo3 '8 important new leads with Scotland Yard'
ive always wondered about that alleged £300,000 paid to Halligen. Was it paid in a lump sum, or instalments and was it paid up front, if so why to both questions.
