Me too, Iris. I reckon Gerry was supposed to tamper with the shutters, but Jez Wilkins came along at an importune moment. The plan went ahead anyway, perhaps because Kate didn't get the message that it was not all lined up in place yet, and it had to go ahead, hoping that all those respectable doctors would be believed.

Kate also mentions in her book that Gerry tried to open the shutters from the outside and found it was easy and quiet when he did it. From what I recall this is not possible but if it is in Kate's book it must be true of course

why was he trying to open the shutters when they had been jemmied and broken. they would not have worked, let alone easily and quietly.

calling for your child? or, do you, inspect the shutters
and its mechanics?
I think its a case of pre-empting possible forensic linkages.

Just to add a little regarding the topic of this thread (although the current discussion is interesting) I have just spoken to my brother and sister-in-law in UK.

Upon mentioning my videos and the controversial nature of them, I was totally shocked that they have not heard ANY indication of the possible parents involvement....despite saying they are interested in the case!

I explained that was the reason for my videos....to show the 'other side of the story' to the UK where the information is limited.

It was 'proof' to me that the McCanns have not only been successful but most 'Pro's' probably really do believe in their innocence, and apart from troublemakers, it is very possible that a good majority of the public that do not use the internet to research the case, honestly believe they were not involved.

This is where I find it sad to not have Pamalam's site to refer to specific pages.

mccannfiles is wonderful and fortunately is still available, but they are very different sites and each filled a certain need.

Both are packed with information but in a different format. I will truly miss Pamalam's site, but as I said before, we were able to use it for a long time and for that I am very grateful.

For those that are not aware of my Madeleine Forum, it is completely different to the well organised reference sites.

Mine is a 'topics' compilation and comparison site with discrepancy tables and statement comparisons, highlighted and easy to compare to others. Always a work in progress, but worthwhile checking to see if I have created an easier version of comparisons rather than seek each statement out individually.

When searching for information on a specific topic just Google the Madeleine topic and add 'aimoo' and it will probably bring you to a thread with all the info I have found on that topic...Random and often incomplete, but usually with different information and/or highlighted discrepancies and contradictions

Although saddened, I prefer to not be upset that Pamalam is taking a break....I want to thank her for the enormous resources she made available for the last few years, despite the problems and pressure she was under. Whatever the future...we couldn't have done a lot of the research without her!

I'm in the U K too HiDeHo and am a bit surprised that your relatives have not heard anything to suggest that the McCanns might be involved. I don't buy newspapers and was not a great Internet user before 2009 but I certainly knew that there had been questions raised in the press until of course the McCanns sued for libel.

I agree with everything you have said about Pamalam and I do hope that she is still accessing this site.

Maybe their interest in the case stops at reading the paper! I don't know as they had to rush out but I will be following through, more out of curiosity than anything.

I hope Pamalam is sat back right now...with champagne and orange juice in hand...giving a big sigh of relief and feeling proud for 'doing her part'.

We all say things that we later regret....often we have the opportunity of editing those comments out.

It's very easy to carried away in the sinister possibilities of this case and though not meant to be taken personally, it very often is impossible not to believe otherwise.

Hopefully time to move on and not waste time and energy on anything negative.

I believe it is time to look forward to the future of this case...We are one year closer to the truth!

Regarding McCann's, what makes you think they started acting up only when the police arrived? Rachel Oldfield says when interviewed by Leicestershire Police that in the first ten minutes when realising Madeleine had not been found Kate was 'really upset, she was hysterical, really distressed, screaming, there's no way she could have acted that, or anyone could have in fact, I don't think, not even an actress.' I've read many times people trying to make it sound strange that Kate was screaming, smashing the bed and Gerry whaling on his knees. But again why would that be a point to make. If they are innocent they had just found out their baby had been taking, how are they meant to respond?

I have seen the video with Gerry saying 'f*ck off, I'm not here to have fun.' Though it is awful that he swore in front of children it was hardly a rant or losing his temper. His voice wasn't raised, he didn't have an aggressive stance. Just a foolish comment, which I'm sure he feels idiotic about now.

Don't get me wrong I agree with many other points you made. Why did Kate say the shutters were smashed when they weren't? Why did she say in her book it felt like they were the only one's searching but then like you say, she said they never physically searched for her?

The Rogatory interviews, as we know, were undertaken some time after the event and we know how accounts morphed in that time - look how JT's account changed from a man carrying a bundle to her seeing the colour of PJ's - despite the fact that sodium lights would have masked the colours!

I am sure Rachel Oldfield's statement will be grounded in a good deal of truth even if the timing might be out a way. I am sure if your child was dead, there were incriminating circumstances and you might be on the verge of arrest, impriononment and ruin that you would become hysterical and start screaming. Like I said the body and emotions take over. Raw emotions might have many different sources.

Why trying are you implying that people are delibertately attempting to colour the Mc's in a particular light?? Well I can tell you this from the heart - IT IS STRANGE - your child is missing and all you can do is scream and bang your head against the wall?? No sorry - the girl might have wandered out and be in danger of falling in the pool or getting knocked down or something. You would run round and around calling out her name - asking people if they had seen a little girl - you would run and run until day break and then run some more.

But of course Kate did'nt need to do that did she? The shutters had been jemmied and she knew straight away that 'they've taken her'. Even if this was the case you would go and look for those nasty people and stop the getting away - afterall - they could not be far away because of the timings could they? You would ask in anyone had seen a person or persons carrying a child - putting it in a car - or child protesting at being dragged away.

But Kate did not do this did she?? She did not have to as she knew that searching was a lost cause - seearching would not bring Madeleine back to life. No - instead Kate banged her head against the wall and Gerry whailed. Both have been doing the same every since imo!
