Re: HELP FIND MADELEINE' FUND DWINDLES
It won't do them any good, especially in the present climate, to not disclose at least the sum received for the bewk.
Too many people are aware that this event happened and that they did a six or seven figure deal with Transworld. Letting us know that the Fund is running low and that nearly half a million has been spent on the search - how? It's not as if they hot footed it to India or indeed any country where sightings occurred.
Is it likely that the Transworld deal has been timed to come out in the next year's accounts? By which time they will have rolled up the Fund? Because that will have to happen sooner rather than later. So imo the accounts for 2011/2012 - the year runs from April to April? - would be the crucial ones.

Re: HELP FIND MADELEINE' FUND DWINDLES
Very small item about the dwindling Fund in today's Daily Telegraph: Notably, it does not refer to an alleged Abduction but contents itself with "went missing".
Sadly, they let themselves down by quoting another bit of received wisdom - that this event took place on 3 May.

The interesting thing about the dwindling fund story is that it appears every year and I suspect that it is put out by the indefatigable family spokesman, since the gist of it is broadly similar in all publications. Of course he only ever puts out stories for a reason. This year's reason would appear to be to divert attention away from the changes implied by the amendments to the articles of Madeleine's Fund Leaving No Stone Unturned Limited.

Payments can be made to the directors as they see fit. So a director can take out a lump sum of any amount, as long as taxed is paid on it it's legit.
Pensions can be set up for the directors and any amount paid into it.
The directors can decide to buy a propery and do it up as they see fit and then dispense of said property without payment.
They can set aside fund money to be used in any future expenditure - does this include legal fees if Brian Kennedy cuts them loose?
And even if the foundation is wound up they can decide who benefits from any money left. They can get one of their bezzies to set one up and 'donate' the money to them.
It was a very bad move to let Kate or Gerry McCann become directors of this fund. They can use the foundation money as they see fit now.
As l said, nice little earner. If the mortgage hasn't been paid off before, it will be now.
Hello Margaret, according to the terms the McCanns are able to use the money as they see fit, which is wrong in my opinion but that's how it goes. However there is nothing in the terms of the fund that says the McCanns extended family are also able to use the money to assist them, but Clarence Mitchell says they can. He says so in a "You Tube" video called "Clarence Mitchell, Spinning for the McCanns and Jane Tanner." He also said that donors to the fund won't mind the McCanns and their extended family using the fund money, to assist them in any way they want, (or words to that effect).
