Hi Oldartform,
We are trying to establish whether any of the McCanns at Castlecraig is related to Gerry......that is the first link in the chain to establish the reason
for the inordinate help the McCanns have received.
Hi Panda - yes I know that would be very useful and more suspicious if they actually are related but even if they aren`t related the clinic could still have been recommended by the Mcs and, as I said, it might not be specifically that particular bit of dirt that GM has on TB.
I think a McCann family tree is in order then !

Good thinking Oldartform.....we know that Gerry"s Family came from Ireland originally, forget Kate , we just need Gerry and his siblings, do you want to have a go?

Re: Selling The Big Lie
If anyone does try to compile a McCann family tree, good luck as it's such a common name in Scotland and Ireland. There might be some distant cousins desended from Gerry's grandfather Joseph; I have no information about any siblings of his. Joseph had three sons Patrick, John and Hugh. The first died young and John (also known as Jack) was the father of Gerry and his brother and three sisters. John Senior died in 2004 or 2005. Hugh is reported both as having died in 1999 and having accompanied the McCanns on their trip to Donegal in 2007!!
An unusual family I think we can safely say.

Hi Not Born Yesterday,
We don"t need a Family tree as such, just if Gerry is related to any of the McCanns working at the Clinic in Castle Craig, there"s a John and a Peter, is the
John Gerry's Brother? If we can find out the Address for this John, I have the Address for Gerry's Brother John who lives in Scotland. What I find very
Strange , John, Gerry's Brother , was appointed Chairman when the Company was formed but living in Scotland was a long way to go to attend Meetings
and most of the other Directors live in Leicester.

Castle Craig has a branch in The Netherlands and Gerry worked in that country for a while - did he work there?
I've just checked the Castle Craig nl site and they appear to have a huge place nr The Hague in the most expensive part of it too!
Peter McCann is down as director of the thing, the only McCann on the list.
However, Gerry was in Amsterdam, learning to use MRI in monitoring cardiac anomalies or such like. I've read the paper, how did he pass his exams? Very, very average, as indeed all his written work is. I don't think he had anything to do with Castle Craig.
I don't think that the Blair's daughter is enough to have thrown up such protection. Imo the protection is so good because a lot of the people who organized it are protecting their own skin. Always a powerful incentive.

Oh aren"t you clever.....thanks.
That is the John McCann of NSU but no reference to him working at Castlecraig. BUT, he worked for Astrazeneca from 2002 untill May 2011!!!! When he became Chairman of No Stone Unturned he said he was giving up work to concentrate on the search for Madeleine etc, I"m sure ann_chovey or
Annabel will be able to find the announcement. He was the only person to represent the Family at the first anniversary in PDL of Madeleine's disappearance
does anyone tell the truth in the McCann Family? There was nothing about a Peter McCann I presume. John McCann resigned from NSU with a few others
in August 2010, I wonder how much he received as Chairman for 3 Years?

Re: Selling The Big Lie
You guys sent me off to some really weird internet territory reading about the Mccann family links. I ended up at David Ickes forum (I normally try and give all this free masonary stuff a wide berth as I'm not totally sure about it all. Although I do recognise that Gerry has posed for the photographers utilising some of their symbolic gestures.
I did however read that Gerry and Murat knew each other before in Leicester whilst campaigning for the labour party. Is there any truth in this?

Re: Selling The Big Lie
From THAT KEY BIT OF INFORMATION (Dr Martin Roberts):
In contrast, Robert Murat's own answer to the question of any prior meeting with Gerry McCann is unequivocal:
"I've never met the man before and the idea that I'd met him when he was campaigning for the Labour Party is laughable. I've been a Conservative all my life." (Robert Murat on Gerry McCann, Daily Express, 14 September 2007).

Another interesting snippet from 2007 that was discussed on 3As at the time:Autumn wrote:

Castle Craig Hospital
Directors
Peter McCann MA, ICADC Chairman
Dr Margaret Ann McCann, MB Bch BAO Medical Director
Dr. Michael G. McCann , MD , MA , DIH, MFOM Director
John L McCann BA ACIS Financial Director/Administrator
Castle Craig Hospital is located in 50 acres of grounds in the Scottish Borders. It is a residential hospital for the inpatient treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction. The hospital is registered with the relevant statutory body, namely the Scottish Care Commission. It is a major contractor to the National Health Service and is recognised by the major medical insurers in the U.K. Many insurance companies from other countries fund the treatment at Castle Craig. The hospital is a Preferred Provider to the U.S. Government under the Tricare programme and it is also recognised by the Dutch insurance companies.
Here is something that Peter McCann wrote last year. It might lend weight to rumours about cabinet members and family members having used Castle Craig. See what you think:
"We also read today, about the inappropriate way that Liberal Democrats covered up on their former leader’s alcoholism. This is a typical response we see throughout industry and institutions when members of organisations try to cover up for their sick colleagues. It is quite disgraceful that politicians weld so much power while addicted and when their judgment must be warped. This applies to all political parties. Addiction must be confronted at all times and “tough love” applies to politicians just as much as to doctors, lawyers and family members. "
Our dear friend the poisoned dwarf "Lorraine Kelly" did the introductory DVD for Castle Craig.

Re: Selling The Big Lie
I hope Oldartform sees this before starting to investigate .
The Castle Craig connection between Peter McCann and the McCanns or
specificaly the relationship thought to exist between Gerry McCann as
nephew to 'Uncle' Peter of Castle Craig has been categoricaly denied and
denied by nonone other than Peter McCann himself.
How do I know this you might ask. It came to light when the McCann
published author Stephen Bernard Marsden aka Steveo and/or Brian Johnson
emailed 'Uncle' Peter on the subject.
Peter McCann did not email his reply but chose to speak on the phone
with the McCann author. I am informed Peter McCann would only say on the
phone he wasn't related to Gerry McCann.
So there you have it. No connection. None at all and what's more there's absolutely no evidence either.

Re: Selling The Big Lie
Morning Autumn, thanks for the link, I couldn"t see anything in the Index relating to the Peter McCann / Gerry link but the info I posted was from Paola
Reis, a respected Journalist.
when Stevo"s book was published in America, he e-mailed me to tell me and when I asked how much he said £37 odd because of the postage costs
from the U.S. to the U.K. .....it has over 500 pages.!!!! I said I would wait until it was published in the U.K>
It is still available on Amazon, very cheap......not sure it would be 100% accurate.

All I know of my Ancestry was my Grandmother on my Father"s side fled from Russia in 1917 at the time of the Revolution and ended up in Wales.!!!
She was a Tailoress and lived alone, made dreadful Stew which we were obliged to eat because she rewarded us with threepence. Her first name was
Sorah and it was only when I saw her Birth Certificate after she had died that her second name was Fanny. My sisters and I had a good laugh at that,
Sorah Fanny....get it?

You are `aving a larf Panda Never heard the name Sorah although it does rhyme with Torah. What an interesting lead to follow back to Russia during the revolution. My great grandmother was also a `Fanny`! It was quite a common name back then. I`ve done one of my ancestry lines back to the C16th but its nothing more exciting than the Humber area !
