T.V.1 is being sued by the McCanns for showing Amaral's Video maybe the Mccanns dropped their claim when the injunction was lifted. The Portugese
are certainly raising our hopes that justice will prevail, I wonder if and when the British Press will start to turn against the McCanns.

morning panda , i would love the press to turn on the mcanns , but how much ? they will if ever it comes to trial claim unfair trial by press . i know in the shannon mathews case and the rose wests one it was said that they nearly got off . its all about talking to witnesses and thats what i feel a bit uneasy about this smith thing

Morning Cass As the Judge said when the Portugese Prosecutor asked if there was sufficient evidence to go to Trial "Show me the body". I think the
Portugese had plenty of time to charge the Mccanns with "neglect causing harm" which carries a 10 year sentence before the McCanns left Portugal.
Why they didn't is open to speculation.

Good morning Panda, I read that the PJ wanted to bring neglect charges against the McCanns, but they were overruled by a higher authority.

Goncalo Amaral has said on more than one occasion, that the British Government interfered with this case and he isn't the only one to make that statement. The point is, why did the British Government interfere with this case? The McCanns had broken the Portuguese law, when they left their children unsupervised, night after night after night. As you say the charge would have been "neglect causing harm" which carried a 10yr sentence.

It's no wonder people like myself, think that someone within the British Government along with the McCann and others, were involved with something unsavoury, that would cause a huge scandal should it ever be brought to the public eye. I mean look at the speed the British Government sent over people to help the Mcanns, it was within hours of Madeleine's disappearance. Lawyers were also in place to help the McCanns, within hours of Madeleine's disappearance. None of these people seemed to care about what was happening to Madeleine, it was as if they all knew she was never going to be found dead or alive.

I accept I may be well off the mark, but I still find it strange that the McCanns were given all this help, when they had quite clearly broken the law. While Kerry Needham and her husband were left high and dry by the British Government, when they were arrested for being involved with Ben's disappearance. They were at work when Ben disappeared, but it didn't stop the Greek police from arresting them. I know they were later released without charge, but that didn't stop them going through a traumatic experience, while the British Government did nothing to help them.

The wheels of Portuguse justice may be turning slowly, but at least they seem to be going in the right direction.

kathy imo the mcanns didnt expect that nearly 5 year later that people/us would still be wanting to know what really happned the internet is the best freedom of peech in the world and the mcanns asnd their supporters hate it

Morning kathybelle....that's the enigma isn't it.....why did the Mto be a fundraiser for the Labour Party had info which would embarass the Blairs and Browns? Was it because Tony Blairs Daughter received treatment
for alcohol abuse in a Clinic in Scotland whose Owner is a McCann although reportedly not related to Gerry.?

We probably will never know but certainly the help they received from wealthy people from Day 1 also was unprecedented, the McCanns did not come from rich backgrounds and wouldn't ordinarily socialise with Philip Green and Richard Branson.

someone once posted that pj could have had silver - neglect --- but they went for gold , but i thought in portugla if they charged them with neglect , nothing could be added at a later date ? anyone remember . and talking of neglect , what kind of message is this coming across as . ive heard the term somewhere , DOING A MCANN leaving children unattended

I read that the 1 year sentence for neglect was allowed to laps because Amaral wanted to go for the Neglect causing harm , but kathybelle, with so
many rumours I doubt we will never know the truth.
