I hope he sends all his stuff to SY.
the whole lot of them are a disgrace, I wonder what the maximum sentence is for perverting
the course of justice.

In English common law:
Sentencing
The Crown prosecution Service (CPS) sentencing guidelines for perversion of justice recommends a minimum sentences of four months and maximum sentences of one to two years per incident. Specific perjury and witness intimidation statutes permit longer sentences and in theory the offence of perverting the course of justice can carry a penalty of life imprisonment. However there have not been any sentences above 10 years that have been passed in the last century for this offence.

Re: More timewarps/Blacksmith
thanks for the info almost gothic, although I would think that some of them will have
a lot more to worry about than charges for perverting the course of justice and I hope
that all those who have perverted the course of justice will have the maximum sentences
chucked at them.

It's nice to think that after all this time there is a chance the wheels may be finally coming off their carnival.

I'm just wondering if they CAN be charged in the U.K. Their first statements were made in Portugal, the second in the U.K FOR the PJ , so if they are found to be untrue, surely it's up to the PJ to prosecute?

Re: More timewarps/Blacksmith
Did I read in there that Gerry was injured and could not play tennis? Is that right? Its the first I've heard about it as I always assumed he was playing tennis and asked DP to go and check on Kate. Or have I read this all wrong? And if I've read it right and he was injured, is it a tennis related injury?

Wasn't he supposed to have got an achilles tendon injury and couldn't complete either a tennis match or compete in a match? I read this somewhere but wonder of wonders, his injury had cured itself and he was able to take up his sports again almost immediately after Madeleine's disappearance.

I'm sure that Gerry, at some point, said something about an Achilles tendon injury. Being a medical doctor, though, I'd have thought he would be aware that the tendon in question was renamed the calcaneal tendon quite a few years before 2007.
Re: More timewarps/Blacksmith
t's on here somewhere, the orgnal Tapas statements and the Tmes artcle, commented at the tme.
n the tmes Artcle t says on 3rd May Gerry had a Tenns Lesson at 4.30pm but decded not to play because of his achlles heel.
In the Tapas Statements it is said that Gerry was was on the Tennis Court and met David Payne coming from the Paradaiso, about 6.15pm. He stopped
to talk to Gerry who asked him if he would call in at 5a to ask Kate if she wanted to come to the Court.
Question:- What was Gerry doing from 4.30pm until he met David?
Question:- How was Kate supposed to take 3 children to the Tennis Court on her own without a Buggy?.

Re: More timewarps/Blacksmith
So have I got this right? GM had an injury, so couldn't play tennis, but chose to just stand there, watch, and socialize rather than go home and help his wife to bath the children/spend some Daddy time with his children.
What a :Arghh:will not bring the thread down by using the word I am thinking of.

Re: More timewarps/Blacksmith
The more you read, the more you have to wonder why a recon was not mandatory because it would certainly have shown the anomolies and who are
the Tapas 8 that they feel they can give the Police the runaround and get away with it.????

Re: More timewarps/Blacksmith
it seems they got away with it so far due to the protection and interference of Browns government.

A snippet from Gerry's 10 May statement:
The deponent and KATE returned to the OCEAN CLUB by the short-cut and at the secondary reception they asked the lady employee if there was a vacant tennis court they could reserve. They were told there was a vacancy between 14H30 and 15H30. As it was already 15h00, they began to play immediately. At 15H30, the tennis instructor arrived, who taught them a class until 16H30.
They stayed there, talking, until 16H45, at which time the twins went to the meal area. At 17h00, as usual, MADELEINE arrived accompanied by the nannies and the other children. After her arrival, MADELEINE dined, having finished at 17H30.
After 17H30 they went to the apartment, the deponent having entered by the main door, which he did not lock while he was inside the residence. KATE and the children entered by the back door, after this had been opened from the inside by the deponent.
They bathed the children, the deponent having left at 18H00 for a tennis game only for men, which was attended by: DAN, the tennis instructor; JULIAN, with whom he had played tennis several times; and CURTIS, with whom he had also played before.
During the afternoon of that day, the rest of the group, including the children, were at the beach, having returned at 18H30, the time at which he saw DAVID PAYNE next to the tennis court. DAVID went to visit KATE and the children and returned close to 19H00, trying to convince the deponent to continue to play tennis, which he refused, as he had already been plying for about an hour and had to go back to his wife. Nevertheless, RUSSEL, DAVID and MATHEW stayed to play.
At around 19H00, he made his way to the apartment, finding KATE and the children playing on the sofa. About 10 to 15 minutes later, they took the children to the bedroom and they all sat on MADELEINE's bed to read a story. At 19H30, the twins were already in their respective cots and MADELEINE in the bed next to the bedroom door. He does not know if they were asleep but from the silence he presumed that they were. As it was still early he took a bath, he thinks that KATE had already done so, they talked a little and drank wine or beer.

So....if kate and Gerry were together at the tennis courts and then Kate took the children home for a bath etc. How did she manage to go jogging at the beach?

It makes one wonder why Karen Matthews wasn't allowed the same lattitude with the responses to her questioning, but then it was only a council estate she hailed from and she hadn't got Brown's number on her mobile.
