Oh I see Gerry, it's ok to go and leave 3 children for 30 minutes whilst you to the pub/restaurant/bar all that way away, oh and leave the patio door open as well. What a disgrace he and his wife really are.

It is within the bounds of responsible parenting, apparently.
Not on this planet, it isn't.

Strange that he was so quick to correct Sandra on that point.
I guess it could be argued that he wants people to believe that there were 3 x 30 minute windows of opportunity for an abductor to get in and take Madeleine from the apartment, ie. beween 8.30 and 9.00pm, between 9.00pm and 9.30pm and between 9.30pm and 10pm, but the problem is, Madeleine wasn't 'abducted' because of the half hour checks.... she was apparently 'abducted' DURING one of the half hour checks - it's just that Gerry didn't notice.
I'd like to see how he'd react if someone suggested the doors were all locked.

Re: McCann McMinute: No Neglect = No Abduction!
'small window of opportunity' was the PR buzz word at the time (say it at every given opportunity you can, was the brief)....to reinforce onto the unsuspecting public the abductor escaped through the shutters.
Thing is, from the facts of the timelines from their own statements....the abduction could only have happened whilst gerry was talking to jez outside the apartment when jane tanner saw him/her running away with Maddie. So not seeing or hearing absolutely anything or shutters being jemmied (imagine the noise) despite being only a few yards away in a very quite empty street hardly gives any sort of credence to an abduction. Especially when Matt also (or was it Rob) actually went into the apartment some 10 mins later and all was still fine!
A distance away that was too thirds closer to the apartment than the Tapas bar was, and we are told that the distance to the Tapas bar was acceptable & responsible and they say they could see everything!
oooh I am such a ghoul at times!!!

Re: McCann McMinute: No Neglect = No Abduction!
I really do believe someone was back at the apartments watching the children.
Jane talks about 'relieving' ROB being the 'joke' of the holiday which probably means it happened prior to Thursday.
ROB was looking after their children on Tuesday (and maybe others...or dealing with something that had happened?) so did she 'relieve' him that night also?
Did they all go to Chaplins after (didn't Chaplins have a quiz also?) Did Jane 'relieve' ROB that night?

Re: McCann McMinute: No Neglect = No Abduction!
Why did Thursday 3rd May become the night which
5a became the most patrolled and checked appartment,
in stark contrast to the previous nights of their holiday?
Why did numerous people do the checks?
Did they 'inadvertently' create a situation where 5a became
such a unrealistic opportunity, or target, for potential
burglars or abductors?
Why, after making 5a such a 'Fort Knox' with supposed
15min/30min checks did they make abduction less likely?
