Maddie: English police wants to "impose abduction theory"

In an interview to TVI, Gonçalo Amaral defends the reopening of the process, but without limits

Gonçalo Amaral defended that the investigation process into the disappearance should be reopened, yet adds that the English police wants the reopening, but with the imposition of limiting the investigation to the abduction theory.

"They speak about sightings, about visions by mediums. A lot of things have been produced over the years and well produced and therefore the English police has to pass the ball to the Portuguese police and we are left with the onus and the expense of investigating. It is important to reopen the process, nobody should doubt that, but to reopen the process without limitations, the way they want to limit us", the former Judiciary Police inspector explained.

"They want to impose an abduction", he stated in an interview to TVI.

Gonçalo Amaral further said that the fault of not knowing what happened to Maddie yet is ours. "It's been five years and we still do not know what happened to this child and it is our fault. The fault of our justice system, of our Attorney General who allowed this investigation to be shelved", he said, justifying the fact because we are "Portuguese and they are English, we are small and they are big. That is waht is happening."

"The investigation was never allowed to arrive at an end", he stressed, admitting that he has no doubt that there was political pressure.

Concerning what happened to the English girl, Gonçalo Amaral stated that he has his opinion. "In my opinion, she is dead."

Lastly, the former inspector further accused the Judiciary police of internally persecuting his colleagues that remain by his side.

So SY want to restrict the investigation to abduction only. I believe Amaral. It confirms what we`ve all suspected - that AR and Panorama are just puppets whose masters can`t let the truth be known.

Is Amaral suggesting the 195 "investigative opportunities" is largely drawn from the dossier of "sightings" post shelving etc?

It was a very vague statement really.... perhaps to wind them up? Anyway, whatever "the thing" was, it's all been reigned back in, and given a nice fresh white topcoat by DCI (trusssssssst me) Redwood.

My daughter watched the programme last night - she has just woken up and is giving me tidbits!! pretty much what was said was that GA does not believe in these new leads, he states that these clues are sightings and dreams psychics etc etc and wondered how the Yard came up with 195, why not 5 ?? he stated that the PJ shelved the case and NOT closed it - he is under the impression that the Yard want the case ONLY to be treated as an "abduction" He believes that the Yard want the case to be re-opened at the expense of the Portuguese, the PJ will NOT re-open until CREDIBLE evidence is produced - According to GA the PJ is twice the size of the Yard more competent and have DRAWN their conclusion - the conclusion in the OFFICIAL PJ Files is set in stone and the McCanns (as we all think) are GUILTY!!!
A very interesting fact is that he (and his case crew) are being TARGETED - he is very angry.

Now for the sad news, from her impression and listening to the interview - this is a "whitewash" she lives on the Algarve and has stated over and over again, no-one is interested anymore and "we (Portugal) are broke mum - dont have money for this" she has asked me to try and put this all behind me,

I live in the Algarve and know enough people who are still interested. If anyone feels there is an injustice you should stand up and fight, no matter what. Look at the civil rights movement in the US or women's rights! There are still plenty of people wanting to see justice and Gonçalo is still up and fighting. I also think that TVI is there too ready to fight. I'm not giving up and I can the same for a lot of other people!!!

I'm with you Carolina - I don't get this negativity at all.

i dont either as long as we are talking about this and correcting the uninformed on facebook twitter /online newspapers/media etc maddie will never be forgotten the mcanns know that people will always suspect them too all the threats in the world cant stop that
