Whichever side of the debate one is on, and setting aside a few real nutters, are we not all here doing our bit to help find Madeleine and to discover the truth of her disappearance?

So whilst, just on this side of the fence alone, there are many shades of opinion spanning those like myself and a hard core of others who set aside all the daily ups-and-downs, the stuff about Masons, whitewashes, conspiracies etc across to those who are persuaded by the apparent general lack of progress into despondency, defeatism and perhaps helplessness, let us go back to our purpose:

Even if you think "the Establishment" is barking up the wrong tree (or just barking ?!), surely we MUST, absolutely MUST, keep on disseminating as widely as possible the alternative view and the facts (as per PJ files, Doggies etc.).

If we don't, Justice may well not prevail - but it has to stand a better chance if we persevere.

Some Honourable Members (and I shall not single one out, as there are a fair few who work devilishly hard out there in cyberspace and elsewhere) are better equipped than most in spreading the word, but the very least the rest of us can do is put away our grumpy hats, force a smile and CARRY ON REGARDLESS!!

We are all here to try and get justice for Madeleine who was taken on holiday and didn't return. The parents were responsible for her well-being and didn't even want to help the police by answering simple questions but decided to go for the money.

I have long-suspected that there was much corruption in the government and police and it has been shown to be the case so in this respect the Madeleine case, the Millie Dowler phone hacking case have shown how bad the situation is.

I hope the situation will get better but is a shame we have had to have these sad cases to bring out the truth of what was going on under the surface.

I can't see the UK police coming clean and I am pinning all my hopes on Portugal who have said that Madeleine died in 5A. The dna evidence was given as Martin Brunt announced and then it was changed. Next thing is the FSS is to be closed. Always get rid of evidence...

Nothing that I see and hear from the McCanns tells me that they are telling the truth and that goes against my principles. I think they should have been brought to trial in Portugal but the UK stopped it. I wonder if there was a deal with GB as it was close to the Lisbon Treaty time.

I think this case sticks out coz they were doctors and didn't give a good impression on how they looked after their children on a family holiday. I don't think bunging them in a creche during the day and leaving them alone at night was the way to go.

If the UK has dug-in and won't budge from an argument which doesn't hold water then we must look to the Portuguese but I don't see why they should be burdened any more if the uk is weighing them down.

The new, age-progressed picture would be the absolute double of my own daughter, if only she had fair hair. It's affected me very deeply. I'm not worried about her being stopped in the street or anything (she'd kick the accoster in the shins and run!) but it's made me really, really think hard about what the past 5 years would have been like without her. I don't think I can ever, ever give up until I know what's happened to that poor wee lamb.

Please: Remember Why We Are Here Empty Know how you feel Iris...

however about 10% of all English children look a bit like that aged up to 9 years pic... It is a very affecting progressed likeness... one possibility of how Madeleine might now look... Trouble is, I foresee scores of lookee likee sightings all around the UK and further afield from people who, no, didn't get close enough to check for the coloboma/fleck at 7 oclock in the iris of her right eye... but were convinced, nonetheless, that it was her. The UK police have made follow up rods for their own backs with the pic and their 'she is out there somewhere' proposals...
