yeah, you're right - it'll probably be more of a press statement, and like it or lump it.

Or, in the event that questions are allowed, expect them only from a 'select' group of reporters who look suspiciously like they have learned their non-challenging questions by heart.

And just in case they go off-script there will be ringers standing near them with cattle prods.

Why do they need to do a Press Conference? Maybe they've heard the case is about to reopened so they will "request" it officially? Or maybe its just about the new book or to let us all know she's still missing.

They'll probably just re-parrot what they said to Kelly - however, Kelly's show could be seen as the bargain-basement tabloidy version, whereas a press conference would be more official, weighty.

And I'd guess it would be Clarrie's idea to give it some gravitas.

I thought Lorraine was the only tv they were planning on doing? Probably forgot to plug the book on her show so need another opportunity. Their sense of importance never fails to amaze. Just like Rome needed to prepare, now a Press Conference which seems to be compulsory viewing.

Well if the reporters aren't allowed to ask any question they like they won't be fooled, just don't expect anything nasty to be printed whislt they have CR on their side.....

The McCanns are, as usual. playing to ther gallery - they know that no-one in the media will ask them why they have not instigated a re-opening themselves through formal channels. It's a national disgrace that the obvious question is excluded - it is deliberate and a cause for grave concern that the general public is deliberately 'made unaware' .
