I think Gerry did MO a favour in a case of medical opinion 'back up' - a minor case as I remember reading.
Apart from the Paynes, JT certainly stands out as having performed over and above what one could expect from an acquaintance.
Rachel M may be in the loop simply because it would damage MO if she wasnt.
So we are left with the doctors, DP,FP, MO and ROB. There is certainly a sort of freemasonry amongst doctors without them having to be freemasons.
Gerry seems to have had connections - knew GB's brother and possibly indicated he could help their careers.
On sees the same in professions such as plumbers - builders etc. They never like to correct or pick up work started by another of their profession and are often unwilling to help the duped householder by giving evidence of malpractice.

I think the MO case was late diagnosis leading to death.
Re: The Fridge
It wasn't minor was it.
Someone died because off MO and the family off that person were taking legal action.
I would like to know the outcome off that case.

This is absolutely true I think, but even so, if it were a genuine abduction, you would still suspect the mere aquaintances you were on holiday with and they in turn would suspect the parents, whether they were all doctors or otherwise. Therefore, it is something strong between them all I feel and this, to my mind, shows this up for what it really is, a cover up.
I am, as a female, trying to put myself in Kate's shoes here. Kate's version is she finds her child missing and, leaving the twins, she informs everyone else and they all run around the complex searching for what appears to be a given time and then, eventually, the police are called and then the menfolk all sit down together and draw up an agreed timeline of events. And there was no arguing amongst themselves apparently.
No, no, no. In a genuine abduction it would probably go a little different to this. Kate would find her child missing and would scream the apartment roof down and everyone would come running over to her and, after the briefest of searches just to re-confirm she's not in the apartment, the police would be called and, whilst waiting for the police to arrive, they would carry on searching.
But, and here is my crucial point, at some time or other during all of this mayhem and carry on, there would be hard questioning of one another, especially MO. If I were Kate I would be pleading and screaming at him over and over again, think, think, think, what did you see, what did you hear, what do you mean you didn't really go into the bedroom far enough to see if Madeleine was there or not, and so on. And then I would be screaming at Gerry about what he did or did not see when he spent so long in the apartment going to the loo and talking to Jez, and then I would be questioning and quizzing Jez, and surely Jane Tanner would not be keeping information about what she claims to have seen to herself (as she says just in case it hurt Kate's feelings), because she and all of them frankly would come under such pleading and questioning and, only then if all of these mere aquaintances managed to convince/assure me that my daughter disappearing had nothing to do with anything they had done, would I start to panic about an abduction, at the same time deep down still hoping that Madeleine had just wandered off and would be found very soon.
You know, it is natural to panic if you cannot find your child and it would be natural to turn on those immediately around you, more so if they are just mere aquaintances, because these are the people who had a hand in supposedly helping you to look after your children and you would not think twice about being polite to them or being tactful to them because they are not lifelong friends, and just because they are fellow doctors does not mean you wouldn't be hell bent on wanting to know from them if they could have possibly done something to cause this in some way.
But it did not go like this, it went unnaturally rather than naturally, these mere aquaintances do not admit to being turned upon, either in anger or panic, by Kate (or Gerry for that matter), and there seems to be a delay in calling the police and JT did not wish to convey what she claims to have seen immediately and Jez was not sought and quizzed immediately and there was no arguing or finger pointing amongst any of them.
You know, it is as if we, the public, have forced these inconsistiences in their stories from their mouths because of our constant questioning of them via forums like this, and yet it should have been Kate or Gerry doing this job, getting this information from their so called friends, not us. It should have been Kate or Gerry screaming at them, was the door locked, was the door left open, screaming at them were the curtains open or closed, turning on MO especially for not seeing far enough into the room, but the information instead seemed to be more of a contrived story, with changes in the story forced out of them.
Even the police do not claim to have heard any type of disturbance or argument amongst any of them, just Kate and Gerry beating the wall and the floor rather than trying to beat the truth out of people's mouths. It's as if it was all stitched up as it went along really!

Re: The Fridge
Well said LJC. common sense.
If we have lost a pen in this house we all blame each other trying to detect who saw it last.God knows how we would react to the loss of a little child.

fred wrote:mossman wrote:kathybelle wrote:Maybe whatever happened to Madeleine, happened before the McCanns went to dinner, in which case they would have had no need to hide the body, they could have just wrapped her body in the blanket that was missing and put her in the boot of the car. Then taken her somewhere where she would never be found. This would explain the cadaver scent that was found in the boot of the car and on the key ring.
There would have been no press hanging around and no police, because Madeleine's disappearance had not yet been reported. Also anyone walking past the McCanns apartment, wouldn't have batted an eyelid if they saw them putting anything that didn't look suspicious in the boot of the car. In any case anyone walking past, probably wouldn't have even looked their way.
In my opinion, it would have been very difficult for the McCanns to hide Madeleine's body anywhere to hide let alone a fridge in an empty apartment. The McCanns wouldn't know if the police would search every apartment in the block, empty or otherwise, that is why I think they would have had to remove Madeleine's body and take her somewhere where she would never be found.
The McCanns are cold calculating people, so it is quite feasable that they could go to dinner after they had committed their act.
It could not have been the Scenic though because they did not hire that car for some three weeks or so after that night.
IMO I think that is where Murat became involved. He was a property developer, knew the area, had access to empty properties, he helped them, by hiding the body in a freezer, then when the finger was pointed at him, he decided to give her back. Which might not be as macabre as it sounds, all it would mean doing is picking up a sports bag out of the freezer. Hence the body defrosting in the wheel well of the Scenic and leaving evidence.
There would have to be serious 'implications' for RM though surely if he refused when you consider that this theory is based on covering up the death of a little girl ?
In order for him to agree to assist in the cover-up, would he not have to have had contact with the McCanns prior to May 3rd ?

Re: The Fridge
As Gerald McCann said when asked if he already knew Robert Murat ...... "No comment".
This, amongst other snippets, leads some people to believe they did know each other, whereas I (amongst others) attribute apparent connections to coincidence and "small world" syndrome.
Basically, we still don't know with any degree of certainty if the two were acquainted.
There's a recent dedicated Thread somewhere!

Gerry actually said, "I'm not going to comment on that," and I think that was because he didn't want to divert from his prepared script.

Re: The Fridge
For Murat to agree to hide the body he would have had to be deeply involved in something more sinister and know the mccanns quite well i would have thought.
Providing the party powder would be an example that may oblige him to help in that way or maybe a few rounds of the pampas grass.
Either way the mccanns needed 'local' help to find a fridge in a private place.

It was along the lines of providing the 'gear' I was thinking of Lioned because there COULD be severe consequences whereas a found rounds in the pampas grass could lead to nothing more than a trip to the STD clinic at the most.

Don't ask me to find it because I wouldn't have a clue where to start. I did read that Murat hired a Car for a day because apparently his had broken down. Also I think the PJ searched his Mother's house where he was living .

Thanks ann_chovey....see, my memory is quite good , just don't know where to find stuff. Yes, I remember him saying his mother was using the Van,
would she really be helping to display Posters ? Also, when the PJ searched his Mother's house there was something about a "Secret cellar? I don't think they found anything and presume they searched because Tanner had identified him.
