Re: Parents of children missing in Algarve in favor of digging in the backyard of Murat
jd16 - I think you'll find the specially trained dogs with 100% record in over 200 cases would have a different opinion
I wouldnt argue with that.
In one of the Coppers programmes one of the officers said that the dogs was the one weapon the police had which the criminals really fear, and I think in relation to the dogs we have seen fear and desperation come from GM. A doctor who would you would like to think, have a reasonable amount of intelligence, running the dogs down and he was made to look rather silly in relation to the case he quoted where it turned out the person involved was guilty.
the Chief officer of SYorks/West Yorks Police said the dogs should be used more often so impressed were they by them, we know the FBI have even used them.
I regularly see on twitter and other sites some of those who support the Mccanns regularly trying to pour scorn on the dogs and their findings, to me all this shows is desperation and making themselves look rather foolish.
It is not opinion how good the dogs are it is FACT.
I wouldnt argue with that.

Couldn't they have moved the body long after the dogs had gone?

This question has made me think of the Huelva trip and whether they had taken the body of Madeleine there, so many discussions on so will not give a link. The assumption of taking her there, where it could have been fetching her back.

Quite: The whole claim appears to be ludicrous (and unhelpful).

I shall be kind to you JD this evening.
(despite you knowing damn well that those 200 cases were in relation to food items)
What? That's the most ridiculous statement.
Can you tell us what food items cadaver dogs were looking for when they correctly found Kate Prouts grave? Also in the Susan Pilley case they alerted to her cadaver long before her ex-boyfriend murderer admitted he'd killed her?

I have nothing whatsoever to hide JFAK, not in the slightest. It really is a case of what you see is what you get which is why I stick to my usual username 'Fern' when I am able to.
I have 'known' Admin here for many years and have defended them when required.
I have NO theory based on what I read. I have no 100% conclusive theory based on what I have read over the years, it really is as simple as that.
I post here only to the posts that take my interest.

Sorry cherry1 what would it cost AG's office to dig up Murats 2nd drive.....not much??? and if done it would shut up a lot of people, something dosen't sit right with this, we have the AG's office and their experts!! dismissing it, Murat saying its rubbish and today the McCanns will not be drawn in on this silly latest news......Hmmm odd to say the least, but we have Scotland Yard supposedly asking questions and wanting more infomation on this!!

Margaret - Susan Pilley's ex-boyfriend maintains his innocence (not that I belive him for one minute).........

Ah yes thanks for the correction, it was Prout who finally admitted it wasn't it?
Still waiting for fern to quantify her bold statement, but l guess it won't 'interest' her enough.

Gerry McCann has NOT dismissed the dogs....it's EVIDENCE he's said that proves that Madeleine is dead...even though he states they are 'unreliable' and as yet HE has NOT come up with the proof off this 'unreliability' ..still waiting Gerry.

It was dug up already, back in May 2007. And nothing was found. Unlike in the McCanns apartment and car.

My point being Margaret is that the 200 cases often mentioned in relation to Eddie not being wrong in detecting cadaver odour, is rather different to what Martin Grimes states in his statement with regards to food alerts.
2262 to 2268 Martin Grime personal profile ( English)
2813 to 2835 Martin Grimes Personal Profile
09-Processo 9..Pages 2262 to 2268
11 also Processo XI 2813 to 2835
"In six years operational deployment in over 200 cases the dog has never alerted to meat based foodstuffs."

South Yorkshire Chief Constable Meredydd Hughes said: "Keela's training gives the force an edge when it comes to forensic investigation, which we should recognise and use more often.
"We know we have an operationally excellent dog section, and our specialist dogs are being developed in a unique way."

UK's No1 Sherlock Bones The Sun
By Alastair Taylor
Published: 30 Dec 2005
BRITAIN'S most amazing police dog can earn more than her chief constable.
Springer spaniel Keela is so smart she is hired by other forces for £530 a day - plus expenses.
That is a rate of £200,000 a year, compared to the £129,963 paid to South Yorkshire's top cop Med Hughes.
Keela, 16 months, has helped detectives around the country with high profile cases, including the stabbing of Abigail Witchalls, 26, in Surrey.
Now she is going to the United States - to show off her skills to the FBI
Her sense of smell is so keen she can sniff out blood on clothes after they have been washed repeatedly in biological powder.
She can pick out microscopic amounts of blood even on weapons that have been scrubbed clean. And she is able to lead detectives to minuscule pieces of other evidence.
Handlers PC Martin Grimes and PC John Ellis devised a special training regime to focus Keela's remarkable sense of smell.

Re: Parents of children missing in Algarve in favor of digging in the backyard of Murat
Paul Ruffell, of K9 Solutions, a security firm specialising in dog units, said he was amazed at Keela's abilities. "I've been working in this business for 25 years and I've never heard anything like it," he said.
Used across the world for his accuracy, seven-year-old hound Eddie helped police put Trevor Hamilton behind bars in 2006 after the victim recovery dog found 63-year- old Attracta Harron's blood on the 23-year-old murderer's burned-out Hyundai.
Eddie, who works for South Yorkshire police, also located Attracta's body in a shallow grave in April 2003.
Last year the dog and his handlers returned to Ulster for a third time to help find missing Arlene Arkinson.
The Tyrone teenager went missing after leaving a disco in Bundoran, Co Donegal, on August 13, 1994.
Both Eddie and Keela have also been used in various disappearance and murder cases in the US and the Republic of Ireland.

There is no argument as far as I'm concerned Iris, I obtain my information from Martin Grimes statements and as I have no theory I have no need in the slightest to 'adapt' his comments to suit my opinion.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Only coconut in the Mccanns apartment, clothes & hire car?? if a dead body has lain anywhere, killed in foul play, evidence is hidden for obvious reasons by a perpatrator, this would not make a cadaver dog wrong...it would make the killer good at hiding evidence
I could dismiss the dogs if they had alerted to any other apartment/villa or vehicle...they are $hit hot at what they do...seems like a lot of police forces use them...just ask yourself why
on a side note i discovered Kate was wearing her pants of ganga on the 11th may 2007,6th may 2007 but does any one know when she wore them the week before...my simple maths would say the 1st may??

Re: Parents of children missing in Algarve in favor of digging in the backyard of Murat
When the McCanns moved from their apartment to a villa in Praia da Luz, a neighbour saw their car boot left open all night long. A relative of the McCanns, Michael Wright, admitted to police that this was because of a horrible smell in the car. This was the same car where Eddie, the cadaver dog, alerted to the smell of a corpse.
