If Kate and/or Gerry, are thinking of emigrating, they will have to wait for the outcome of the review. If they were to apply now, I feel they would not be accepted, because the case is only shelved and if the case is reopened, they will resume their status of arguidos and there is a chance they would be prosecuted.

Morning kathybelle,
I don't think they would emigrate until Kate's latest book is released which will mean more publicity for them .There will come a time though when they will publicly announce they are closing the fund and the Private company will be used for these new enterprises like training videos, seminars etc.

Healey or not! Panda I think the media are the same the world over....Kate would be tracked down like the criminal she is....astleast for child neglect and fraud if nothing else, her and Gerry seperated or not will never be able to live a normal life again, they might be able to run (like they did from PDL in Sept 2007) but they can't hide imo

i think whereever kate or gerry goes they will always be doubts of what happened on 3rd of may 2007 --- they made this circus and it will never end for them ever --- if they did find someone that could have taken madeleine it wont ever stick i dont think --- people will always think of them as the selfish me mes that put their drinking with friends before the saftey of their children my mum has never believed they hurt madeleine in any way sh wont read anything that says they might be guilty --- but that doesnt mean that her head hasnt been turned to the celeb status that they have and her own words after the sun thing and book was sick of seeing them now and yes they should admit they was wrong to leave 3 babies and some sort of neglect charges brought

Re: A photographer has told the Leveson Inquiry pictures he took of Kate and Gerry McCann...
The key to the "mystery" is the answer to "Why?" Why did the government of the day delegate the services of the 'source' to front the McCanns' media campaign - a campaign patently designed to sabotage the investigation of the disappearance of a little girl - and why does the present government apparently support his role and even employ his services for their own political ends when it suits them?

The answer lies in who else is being protected here which has warranted the massive
coverup that we have seen.

I hope Leveson follows this up. A key plank to the M's evidence was that they were hounded by the press. It is well known that while in PdL they were arranging photo opportunities etc. If post PdL they were feeding the press on their movements some of their evidence on press intrusion sounds hollow.

Morning Chris, is this within his remit ? If we can see through the McCanns who is going to expose them? The Press? No they have relied on the McCanns for increased Sales. the Public? No , they may read these articles know the McCanns must have been complicit in their publication , but not
interested enough to take action.

It is certainly within his remit to question whether there is collusion between witnesses and the press although he won't pursue the identity of the journalist's source.

Well I hope Leveson is impartial enough to question the statements, wasn't it at the Enquiry that Kate went OTT on her feelings.....can't remember
exactly what she said.

So 'hemmed in' in fact, that they were able to holiday in Canada and allow their 'source' to relay that fact to The People ...
So reluctant for the press to be there that Gerry phoned Sky News before they left giving the time of their flight and saying 'be on it.'
Did he really say that? what puzzles me is why they didn't contact The Sun or Daily Express. I would love to see them off-camera , if they have split was it amicable? The abiding memory I have of them is in the early days when they were being interviewed on T.V. and Kate squeezed a few tears.
Gerry made no move to comfort her, just stared straight ahead , stony faced.
He really did say that!
It was time to go home, Gerry decided by September 9. But not alone.
“When Gerry and Kate were about to go home to Britain, Gerry phoned Sky News and said, ‘We’re going home on EasyJet, be on it!’ ” recalls Esther Addley, who has written incisively about the McCanns for The Guardian.

Scroll to page 5.
The vanity fair interview took place in September 07, was published in January 08 I think. The McCanns and Mitchell were not at all pleased about the content. It contains a few serious slip ups, the eye and the good marketing ploy, the two years he'd get for hiding a body (as Wintabells? I think) pointed out a few months ago. The Vanity Fair interviewer caught him on the hop, probably an attractive woman and Gerry likes to think his charisma carries the day.
They couldn't sue VF for some reason, perhaps Mitchell slipped up there, his charges aren't safe out all by themselves as we have found time and time again.
I also wonder about the Canadian holiday - Aunt Nora I presume. But I had read a long time ago that it was the last time they could take the twins out of the country. Would that be because the Ward of Court status of Maddie? Because that only took effect in the summer of 08 I believe.

So as not to make too long a post, here is the Expresso extract courtesy of McCannfiles.com.
The Vanity Fair isssue of February was published on the 9th January 08.
That month the McCanns were negotiating a multi million film deal, in a million dollar or pound interview bidding war (Oprah and another US one), a possible documentary.
They were also trying to avoid taking part in the rogatory interviews as the PJ had requested as early as October/November 07.
Expresso article

Extract:
To 'Expresso', Clarence Mitchell revealed additionally that the extensive feature devoted to the Maddie case in the February issue of 'Vanity Fair' didn't please the McCanns. Although they're used to denying the news that is published daily in the Portuguese and British press, this instance "goes further".
In Mitchell's words, the incorrections start right at the beginning of the article, where it's announced "the first interview with Gerry McCann since he and his wife, Kate, were declared arguidos". And the conversation between the 'Vanity Fair' journalist, Judy Bachrach, and Gerry — that took place at the end of September — "should not have been transcribed. We agreed previously that it would be all off the record and the reporter agreed. We were caught by surprise".
The magazine tells additionally (taking recourse to the statements of Esther Adley, from 'The Guardian') that Gerry, after the decision to return to the UK, on September 9, and already under the arguido status, contacted Sky News previously warning them to reserve a seat on the EasyJet flight. Mitchell, that was not the couple's spokesman at the time, denies everything and only regrets that the reporter didn't confront Gerry with such "accusations".
