Madeleine or Maddie
I couldn't find the Fist anniversary C4 Programme , but this article from mccannfiles proves Kate lied when she said they never called her Maddie, WHY!!
============================================
Madeleine or Maddie?
"Madeleine called herself 'Madeleine', and that was very much the name in the family as well, so that makes us wonder if this was indeed Madeleine," said Clarence Mitchell to the BBC in August 2008, in relation to another false 'sighting'.
The 'Look for Maddie' presentation in Madrid
In spite of Mr Mitchell's words, all the nannies who came into contact with Madeleine at the Ocean Club claim that Madeleine was presented to them under the diminutive "Maddie".
Indeed, the rest of the family, including Gerry and the twins, all refer to Madeleine as 'Maddie'.
Which begs the question: Why is Kate now saying that they "never called her anything like that" and that 'Maddie' was a name "invented" by the media?
The McCanns never called Madeleine 'Maddie'?
Kate McCann
"My consolation is that on the cover he calls her Maddie, the name that the media have invented. We never called her anything like that."
Expresso interview, Kate talks about 'The Truth of the Lie' by Gonçalo Amaral, published 06 September 2008
Kate McCann
"She has a lot of personality and her name actually means 'tower of strength'. But she hated it when we called her Maddie - she'd say, 'My name is Madeleine', with an indignant look on her face."
Women's Own interview, published 13 August 2007
Kate McCann
"Maybe because they're growing. They express themselves better. When they see Madeleine's cat, they say "Maddie". When they see her bag, as well."
Paris Match interview, talking about the twins, 04 September 2007
Gerry McCann

Let's use it positively.
Please pray for Madeleine and all the family at this devastating time.

If you enlarge the screenshots below, you will see that the original versions of the official site asked people to 'Help find Madenleine'. It is surprising that this glaring error was carried thoughtlessly over from the original 'bringmadeleinehome.com' site without correction.

Gerry McCann
'April 2005- Back in Leicester and looking for a job. Now father of three with Sean and Amelie joing Maddie.'
Gerry's Friends Reunited entry, April 2005 - entry updated May 2007 but 'Maddie' remained "
Why would Gerry be looking for a job , he had been awarded a Research Grant by the British Heart Foundation and would be working in the Lab at
Glenfield , maybe even still taking on Private Patients.

Maddie - A year in the darkness [PART 1]
http://www.gerrymccannsblogs.co.uk/press/13apr8/Sun-28-04-08.htm
Day 42
Six weeks since Madeleine disappeared. We believe Madeleine is alive and I am glad to say that following yesterday's letter in the Telegraaf (Netherlands) there has been no evidence that Madeliene is in the area indicated although there will be further searches tomorrow.
Kate and I picked up a friend from Faro airport who has been
instrumental in helping with the campaign. He has been fantastic, producing the DVD of Madeleine to ‘Don’t you forget about me’
which has been shown at many sporting events and concerts as well as producing the look for maddie logo and various posters.
We spent most of the day updating each other and discussing future campaign ideas. We are getting closer to appointing a campaign manager who will handle media liaison and coordinating events to keep Madeleine’s disappearance highly visible

Re: Madeleine or Maddie
Thanks Pamalam.
For starters, Doug Skehan, Gerry's Boss at Glenfields was appointed a Director of NSU when it was incorporated 17 days after Madeleine disappeared. He apparently is experienced in Fund raising so how could Gerry say 6 weeks later it was under discussion, and Clarence was already appointed their mouthpiece, sorry, spokesman.LOL Even after 5 years he
still acts for them.!!!

Hi Panda,
I've just realised what you meant yesterday, when you mentioned NSU. I thought you were talking about a Pharmaceutical company, it didn't even click that you were talking about the "No Stone Unturned" fund.
I wonder what made Doug Skehan and John McCann resign as directors of the NSU.

Morning Kathybelle,
My typing speed is 10 words an hour so I try to shorten words where ever I can.
Yes, I thought maybe there had been a rift between Directors , the McCanns and Smethurst never envisaged to be
appointed.
When you think about it, NOT ONE of the Directors appointed has had experience in searching for missing children ,
that should have told us something from the beginning.

Re: Madeleine or Maddie
The use of a formal name makes it easier for perpetrators of crimes to talk about the person. I't the same as when a mother is cross with a child - say he's called Bobbie, Robert!!!! she shouts and he already knows there is trouble because the affectionate shortened name isn't used. She has distanced herself from the very loved Bobby in order to reprimand him.
We see thus Madeleine instead of Maddie, BabyLisa instead of Lisa and so on. Pat Brown has commented on this very common phenomenon. This is why I'm also convinced the dingo case was suspect, she shouted that the dingo had taken her baby. Not the name, just the baby who wasn't called baby but some biblical name.
So if one used the name Madeleine which neither of them seem to be able to pronounce correctly or indeed spell correctly - Gerry spells it wrongly in his blog at least once and the first website misspells her name and then transfers the mistake to the second website - by the third go they got it right.
Somehow that makes me spitting mad.

Didn't the pj want to try to speak to the twins but Kate McCann said they as they couldn't converse very well and that it would be a waste off time.
Obviously now we know they were possibly sedated to prevent them from seeing or hearing and repeating what happened that night.

You're so wrong! (Wish you were right) The twins are achieving total recall as they get older, despite being totally comatose that night. Kate intimated in the Swedish interviews that she was shocked by the things they could remember - perhaps that's for the next book?

Re: Madeleine or Maddie
Could that just be Kate wishing to portray her children as super-human creatures with abilities way beyond their years? The little we know about Madeleine would be more applicable to an older child or even an adult.
The book may well be full of things the twins have supposedly said and done but I for one will take it all with a vast amount of salt.

Et Moi.....you only had to watch the 1st Year Anniversary on channel 4 to see how the twins were being manipulated for
the Camera. Kate had painted their names on a sheet of paper while sitting at a table with them. When she painted
Madeleine's name and asked "whose that", they didn't know so she had to prompt them so they answered "Madeleine".
How many times did she have to remind them to remember their Sister, they were only 2 when she went missing.

Poor, damaged children.
Deliberately consigned to a wretched and uncertain fate by their parents and their 'friends' on May 3rd 2007.
