Could the whole rotten edifice be about to implode on team McCann??

As with most things McCann, the timing is interesting.
The official word is that he is 'disillusioned with Portugal'. I think that's bollox.

So what exactly is he running away from? And did he fall, or was he pushed?
And if he was to be a witness, is that the end of the matter? Surely there must be some kind of extradition/mutual assistance treaty between Portugal and Brazil, given their connected history and culture.
Alternatively, given that several McCann witnesses will be appearing via video link, they could hardly complain if the court decided that MAC should do likewise.
Unless of course he goes into hiding and cannot be found.
Now that would speak volumes.

Ah well. Brazil is famous for its nuts.

I don't think the McCanns ever paid Correia or that he was involved with Metodo 3. I think if anyone it was Kennedy because he was the one who recommended Metodo 3. Correia claimed to know where Madeleine was and a lake was searched by frogmen, to no avail. Then Amaral suggested Correia was not of sound mind , to put it politely and Correia and a Representative of some organisation sued Amaral over the Cipriani case and although he was cleared he had to pay the Court fees.

Hi weissnicht I never saw that, I understood he was paying for the search himself, think of the kudos if Madeleine had been found.!!!!! Did he ever say how he knew she was in the lake?

Hi Panda, iirc, he was told by some underworld characters, who knew she'd been raped and murdered and dumped into the lake?!

It could just be for tax reasons. Portugal is is dire straits and Correia might be a tax dodger they have finally caught up with. Brazil is one of the best Countries , democratic, emerging market, very good social care, hosting the next Olympics. Of course , it could be as suggested , that he is running away from some local gangsters.

Anything is possible, all we know of Correia is that Amaral thinks he is mad but he can't be that mad because he lost his case about Cipriani but Amaral had to pay the Fees ???
