Do The Mccanns Seriously Want A Reopening Of The Case?
In their annual Christmas message just gone in December 2012 the mccanns say and I quote "The Metropolitan Police Review of all the material in the inquiry has been underway for over eighteen months. We have been really impressed and greatly encouraged by the work which has been done and its findings to date which are revealing there are definitely many stones yet to turn. We continue to wait and hope that the Portuguese authorities will agree to reopen the case so that the many lines of enquiry can be investigated. As Madeleine’s parents, we won’t be able to rest until we know that all that can be feasibly done to find her, and the person who took her, has been done."
The last thing the mccanns ever want is for the reopening of the case, this would be absolutely disastrous for them and all the powers that protect them. On a reopening of the case, the mccanns would immediately be under the status of arguido (remember this status was only shelved and they have never ever been cleared). They would be forced to do a reconstruction which would completely blow part their version of events, they would have to answer all the unanswered questions that so far they have refused to. They will be throughly investigated, their financial records, Maddies medical records etc & all the things they have refused to give to the investigation. The case would ultimately go to trial and the whole world will learn of their lies and deceit and cover up with all the actual facts of the case. In light of not one single shred of evidence to support their abduction story but all the evidence showing they are guilty of a horrendous crime, the truth would be fully exposed for all to see on a reopening of the case and their lives will be finished with long term jail sentences (along with many others)
They are lying with all the teeth in their mouths that they want a reopening of the case, it's a doubt bluff, their only main interest now is to keep the fund open, keep trying to get the money rolling in and using the fund for the other practices they are secretly using it for. The fund is their business along with the other directors edward smethurst and michal linnet. The mccanns know they are protected fully by the powers of the UK as they are protecting their own interests from being exposed, probably a D notice on the media to report anything truthful which goes against their version of events, so they can go public and spout they want a reopening of the case to try and keep the public sympathy (i.e. business going) when they know fully 100% a reopening will never happen
An article by 'notes of a potting shedder' sums it up very well.....
The only stone worth turning... left unturned (12th November 2010)
Lisbon Court steps, February 2010......Kate and Gerry McCann face the press pack and questioning from several journalists. One journalist in particular asks probably one of the most important questions since the case was shelved, his words are in italics.
~ You ask the Portuguese people to come forward , what do you have to say if they ask you why are you not reopening the case?
GM - We'd be delighted if the case was reopened, we have no problem with that.
~ A reconstruction - if you volunteered to do a reconstruction, wouldn't that open the case?
GM - We want to create information that will lead us to helping find Madeleine.
~ That will help Madeleine.
GM - Well, if it does, then, you know, we will participate.
~You're in Lisbon today - you could take that step today, ask for the case to be reopened.
GM - Look, we're going round in circles. We'd be more than happy for the case to be reopened.
November 2010 - the McCanns are in Lisbon once again, not for Madeleine but to meet their lawyers and PR representatives. Recent reports stated that the Portuguese police were happy to work with the parents. Legal sources in Portugal advised that they should use this meeting as an opportunity to instruct said lawyers to draft letters to both the Judiciary Police and the Attorney General to request the reopening of the investigation. This is not something new, it is the McCanns' legal right and has been since the case was shelved. Over the years they have not taken up this right for some strange reason and instead choose to mislead the public by insisting that they need monetary donations to fund their own search.
It appears that yet again that they have chosen not to request the reopening of the case and would rather have a review of the information already gathered. A review instead of an ongoing official investigation. What will a review tell us? It will tell us that the McCanns and their friends should complete the requested reconstruction and all unanswered questions should be answered.
They are persisting with their stunt of a review petition, delaying the search for Madeleine even further by declaring that they will wait until the petition has 100,000 signatures before acting upon it. And in the meantime they will publicly ask for more money to fund an unnecessary private search.
The McCanns say that they will leave no stone unturned. But by their own strange actions and words, it is quite evident that they are themselves hampering the search for Madeleine.

Re: Do The Mccanns Seriously Want A Reopening Of The Case?
That's funny, because immediately after that press release I personally sent them an empty envelope. It was addressed to the Pt Attorney-General and it had an 87p stamp on it. Enough for a letter weighing up to 20 grams to go by air mail to Portugal, ETA 3-5 working days.
Well clearly the Portuguese haven't received the letter yet, or the case would have been re-opened. Barring the fact, of course, that maybe they are so hard up that they had to steam off the stamp to use somewhere else. Or maybe they are studying it for DNA to try and find somebody else to sue (ie me). Good luck with that.

"Do The Mccanns Seriously Want A Reopening Of The Case?"
No.
What they did want, was shelving the case..(check quote Amaral) better even close it, I would think.

Re: Do The Mccanns Seriously Want A Reopening Of The Case?
The Case will never remain shelved whilst there are still so many of us around the world who believe the truth surrounding Madeleine's fate lies very close indeed to the Parents and some of their "friends".
Let's at least vow to ensure that we'll keep the Case "open" in the public domain.

Re: Do The Mccanns Seriously Want A Reopening Of The Case?
I believe it was mentioned, possibly on twitter that Watson was going to ask for
D notice to be removed on Op Ore, therefore perhaps we all need to contact him and
any MPs who we think may be honest and decent - (that is if we can think of any!) to get
D notice of Mccann case. Editors in this country are not reporting the facts, not reporting the truth therefore it seems likely there is a D notice on this case.

I think so too cass, I think more and more people are becoming aware of the facts
through forums, twitter, more people asking questions, anyone involved in this and
coverup can be charged with perverting the course of justice, some of those
on the periphery of this case may decide to save themselves and start to squeal
about what they know.

Re: Do The Mccanns Seriously Want A Reopening Of The Case?
The only thing the Mccanns want are the withheld files I.e. Statements etc.
If the case were to be reopend, the Mccanns would have no chance off putting out a defence in time.
30 years down the line, all the withheld information will be free for all to view .

In my opinion no they don't want a re-opening of the case, but they want/need to be seen as wanting it.

agree bobsy -- its what they have to make the public believe -they created the circus -- they needed to be believed -- i mean drs and friends not being believed -- thats what they thought anyway -- imo bring out swathy man and whats not to believe -- how wrong they were 6 years on and were still here not believing a word that they say -- who would have thought that --- well not the mcanns and tapas buddies -- they thought they would be able to get on with their lifes and big money in the bank and restect intact --wrong they are nearly skint the public are still asking questins -- and they come across as cold hearted money grabbers

Scotland Yard in Porto because of Maddie Google Translation:
January 21, 2013 by Joaquim Gomes
The brigade of Scotland Yard who is responsible for the investigation into the disappearance of British Madeleine McCann is on the premises of the Judicial Police of the Port to "take stock of the situation 'case - knew the SOL.
The British police today arrived to Porto and are currently meeting with fellow Judiciary Police (PJ). Reopening and review of the investigation into the case 'Maddie' - missing for nearly six years - was started ten months ago, having the direction of the National Judicial tasked a special team led by Helena Monteiro, coordinator of criminal investigation over PJ. British authorities expect any new data to be collected by the special team of PJ Port allow the process to be formally reopened by the Ministry Public. After an initial investigation led by Gonçalo Amaral, the case now, still in PJ of Portimão, to Paulo Rebelo, the current director of the PJ Lisbon, but without any practical results. Madeleine McCann disappeared on the night of 9 May 2007 from an apartment in a tourist resort of Praia da Luz, in the Algarve, never having been found so far. At the time, Maddie McCann was complete nine days of age of four.
