Still reading >>> so far it comes across as a statement of the bl**ding obvious dressed up in egocentric and self-aggrandising terms.

But I've not reached the punchline yet.

I really feel ill at ease when I read this article. Imo, it's neither the right place ( an open blog) nor the right time ( before the reopening of the trial) for these confidences.Blacksmith is overwhelmed by his ego and it's really unpleasant and counterproductive.

Chortle-worthy tweet:

@scrantlings Don't worry some of us are deconstructing Smiffy's latest bizarre post elsewhere ;-) #McCann

But as yet, despite several offers from others to discuss, no pro critique of said post.
I wonder why ......

Suppose when they've done their rigorous 'deconstruction' it'll be the usual - 'lies', hater', 'vile', 'mental', 'pitchforker' etc ...

I quite enjoyed that blog post.
It gave an interesting insight as to where people get their information.

I know on Jill Havern they kept trying to 'out' Anthony Sharples,
However on this occasion he has come out and said who he is.
After carter ruck came down on Tony Bennett, one of the few people to use their own name, does he not now think that Carter Ruck will come after him?!

Is this what he wants?

Is this in someway his attempt to back Tony standing shoulder to shoulder?

At least now im aware why the quality if the blog varied so much.
Some things he does know about, but other things he doesnt and his imagination is not that good to make what he doesnt know about appear to the same standard.

I wonder where other blogger people are getting their info and what their connections are!

I think it's a good post Blacksmith 25346 I just think he could have cut the wording down by two thirds, I agree there is a lot of me me me but if he is prepared to put his self forward and write these articles for all to see then he's allowed his bit of glory......

It could be worst he could have spit his dummy out and not come back posting, at least he got over his strop and came back writing even better imo Blacksmith 307691

I don't understand why people here are criticising Blacksmith's postings. IMO, they are informative, interesting and give us an insight into the case. As to how he found out about the McCanns folding, that is true because a friend of mine got an email from a UK journalist asking if they knew anything about the rumour that the McCanns had folded and which was running rife around the newsdesks of most of the newspapers. This person didn't know anything BTW and was very surprised to hear about it. I wonder who leaked?

I thought it was an intriguing blog post for several reasons.
For instance, the observations on the media process when one is placed, albeit briefly, in the eye of the storm. The recognition of Team McCann's lack of foresight, their being on the back foot, always playing catch-up and failing miserably. And how this knowledge could be used to figure out how to deal with the current 'settlement' issue.
What struck me most of all however, was the general tone of the piece. There are quite a few pointers in there which suggest that he perceives, if his deductions are correct, that the McCanns are now beyond help or deliverance from any quarter. That they are so gravely b*ggered that comment will no longer be necessary. That their situation is so grim that he will feel sorrow. I admire his magnanimity - he's a better person than I am. No such noble spirit in me alas, as my head cannot get past the mental torture that they have viciously heaped upon so many others.
However, I hope he does keep on blogging. There will surely be much more mileage in this saga - even at the endgame.

If B. thinks that the Mccanns are beyond help or deliverance from any quarter, and may be it's true, wouldn't it be better to confort them in their blindness in order they come to the final fight without the knowledge of their weak points? Instead of that he gives them ammunitions to protect themselves better.
And all that by vanity.

Hi frencheuropean - I can only give an opinion on what he's saying, but it looks to me like the McCanns are no longer in a position to help themselves whatever is revealed, because it is too late.

I suppose they can at least try the "Unfair Trial" ploy - not that it will work.

Or maybe some ideas for obfuscation have been gleaned from the Vicki Pryce (Housewife: Under The Thumb: Like Hell!) Trial -

viz:

"Your Honour:

Are Sea Bass admissible in Court?

Do you know who I am?

I was subject to undue coercion from my Husband/Wife (Delete as appropriate)

It's not my fault if Madeleine, who we judged capable of responsible babysitting, got herself into a bit of bother - after all, she had our Mobile numbers. Not that we bothered carrying the Mobiles, mind. Or Watches, come to think of it.

Lord Leveson is a good friend of mine.

The Fridges in Portugal are cr*p"

The one thing these two neglecting doctors and their Tap friends can not say is that they've had trial by media.......never in a million years, they no that and us "nutters" and the whole of the media world no that.

I remember reading a post on the old 3As, that this was their reasoning for the papers and media not reporting on the Mcs, think it was a freelance reporter called Sloppingout....he had a pal at the daily mirror he said they have boxes and boxes of stories sat there just waiting for the.....get go!

Well it's more interesting than photos.Blacksmith 294124
I thought it was quite an insightful article, whoever Antony Sharples is, he seems to know more than us. This clip from the LP reason for not handing over all the files to the McCanns is interesting:-
On July 7 2008 Mrs Justice Hogg gave judgement in the Family Division of the
High Court regarding the attempt by Kate & Gerry McCann to gain access to
all the Leicester Police documents regarding the disappearance of Madeleine
McCann.

The judgement was by agreement between the parties and was made in open
court.

M/S Kate McCann in her book Madeleine has now provided an except
from the official submission of Leicester Police to the court regarding the
matter and outlining the reasons why they could not agree to provide the
documents. Signed by the assistant chief constable of Leicestershire it
runs:

“While one or both of them may be innocent, there is no clear
evidence that eliminates them from involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance
