Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon has been arrested for
alleged disorderly conduct after her husband was pulled over on suspicion of
drink driving.
Toth was charged with DUI


Witherspoon, 37, was held when she quarrelled with officers in Atlanta as
Jim Toth was arrested, according to a Georgia State Police incident report.


A state trooper noticed the car driven by Witherspoon's talent agent husband
on a main road in Atlanta was failing to stay in its lane, the police report
said.


Appearing dishevelled and smelling of alcohol, Toth, 42, then failed a
blood-alcohol breath test at the scene, according to the police report.


The officer said Witherspoon "disobeyed multiple orders" to stay in the car
while he was testing Toth.


She said "she was a US citizen and that she had the right to stand on
American ground", according to the police.


After the actor refused to go back to the car, she was handcuffed and
arrested.


The police officer's report said: "Mrs Witherspoon asked, 'Do you know my
name?' I answered: 'No, I don't need to know your name', I then added, 'right
now'. Mrs Witherspoon stated: 'You're about to find out who I am'."


The report further quoted Witherspoon as telling the officer: "You're going
to be on national news."


Toth was charged with driving under the influence.
The couple married in 2011 and have a son
together

Witherspoon's publicist Meredith O'Sullivan Wasson has not returned phone
calls about the actor's arrest.


The Hollywood star married Toth in 2011 and they have a son together.


Witherspoon has two children from her first husband, actor Ryan
Phillippe.


She won an Oscar for her work in the 2005 film about country music star
Johnny Cash, Walk The Line, in which she played his wife, June Carter Cash.
