Scotland Yard in Porto
for Maddie

Met. Police Review - 2013 Maddiesol

The Scotland Yard team
that is responsible for the British investigation into the disappearance of
Madeleine McCann is at the Judiciary Police headquarters in Porto to "evaluate
the current status" of the case - SOL has learned.

The British officers
arrived today in Porto and are currently in a meeting with their counterparts
from the Judiciary Police.

The reopening and re-analysis of the "Maddie"
case - missing for nearly six years - was initiated 10 months ago, by the
National Direction of the Judiciary Police who nominated a special team led by
Helena Monteiro, a superior chief coordinator of criminal
investigation.

The British authorities expect that eventual new data to
be collected by the special PJ team will allow for the process to be formally
reopened by the Attorney General's office.

After an initial investigation
led by Gonçalo Amaral, the case was passed, still at the PJ of Portimão, to
Paulo Rebelo, the current director of the Judiciary Police in Lisbon, but
without any practical solution.

Madeleine McCann disappeared on the
night of May 9(sic) 2007 from an apartment in a tourist resort in Praia
da Luz, in the Algarve, she has not been found so far. At the time, Maddie
McCann was nine days away of her fourth
birthday.

WOW....is this true?

Good morning Panda

I don't understand why this review is taking so long, wasn't it the 'Met' who informed the PJ that they should be looking at the McCanns? If they knew that then, why aren't they acting on whatever made them come to that decision?

6 years on and still the same -- how do we know the review is ongoing -- how do we know what money has been spent ? because we are told so in the press --we are told --imo sy doesnt need to say anything -- as far as we know the review may only have cost a few thousand -- whats the truth in this ? someone said early days -- think all those drs and friends are ALL going to jail -- think again it will never happen -- in hopes against hope i have carried on -- i dont think this is just about kate and gerry mcann but more to do with who was in pdl the night madeleine went missing -- imo best we can hope for is the press letting rip -- how many cases ever have you known where nothing is printed about the wider circle never - every news story casts its net further -- why not in this case --only hope is that if such as rolf harris --jimmy saville and co are brought in -- there could be a bit of hope

Morning kathybelle, I really don't understand what is going on either....with over 30 Detectives and Clerical Staff we all assumed they would be reading all the Files looking for something overlooked by the Portugese Police. Don't tell me it has taken over 2 yrs and £4.25 million and STILL not complete. Either the SY Team have been lazy or incompetent , if they had found enough evidence to charge the McCanns the Portugese would have opened the case by now. Also, Redwood made the remark that there was a possibility that Madeleine would be found alive, what made him think that? Why are they keeping the McCanns informed.?
This case is like a game of snakes and ladders, up the ladder with hope one minute, then down the snake with disappointment the next.Met. Police Review - 2013 294124

It takes longer to find them innocent than it did to find them culpable.

Quite agree. We all know how reliable the press are and in the case of Madeleine, I think they've been forcibly gagged and can't tell us the truth. It probably will all come out eventually, but I for one will be long dead before that happens.

I owe an apology, NBY kindly tried to find the claim I made that the Judge said "show me the body " and came up with a link too long to post here but it was a conversation on TV between Cavalhino and Sandra Figueras and turned out it was the McCanns LAWYERS who coined the phrase because they thought without a body there would be no Trial.

Leonor Cipriano was convicted in 2005 without a body so they wouldn't have had to look very far.
