He wouldn't have to go back to Portugal to see Miss Busty as she lives in the Bedford area!
If Lord and Lady Muck are back there, I hope that they will remember the words of their website - it's not too late to do the right thing.

It's over two months now since Joana Morais... a very good commentator IMHO, put anything new on her site, so as far as the Portuguese end has it, nothing much may seem to be happening. Many more just as thoughtful people online are getting hopeful at the signs, and on some days so am I... but I remember the days of Coldwater when we thought the case was going to unravel... and it didn't. However... I can't believe more money still could be going into it from the UK, without some prospect of a genuine solution. I also can't believe the UK police disrespect their Portuguese opposite numbers. The result may not be the one most of us expect... but I cannot believe SY will go for a dead paedophile patsy... If it is not a genuine solution of some kind, which is at least half plausible, they would be well up for being disproved later on, and then, if it was willful disregard of evidence, they could even be properly blamed a la Hillsborough.

I agree, I think they know too much of high profile pedos... so long as they are not in jail, mccanns are free.mara thon wrote:Well since I'm afraid I still think that for some reason the Mccanns are untouchable, despite the numerous story changes and downright lies they have told over the years, I'm guessing a suitable patsy will be found. I would like to think I'm wrong, but I won't hold my breath.

If they are back in Portugal it'll no doubt be a lawyer's meeting ...
Duarte - if it's the libel trial, or Alves - for ... ahem ... other matters.
Hey, maybe they're looking for a legal loophole to force Portugal to take back their primacy in the case.

"Our crime and lunacy correspondent adds: the whitewash is nearly complete. The two women, one of whom is known to live in a part of London where a Freemasons' temple stood only two hundred years ago, have probably been selected by the prime minister himself. In any case their mission is to put the final details into place in Operation Patsydeath"
Margaret, Imo this doesn't sound good from BS....

Well if it really is the CPS 'legal team' then the question is who are they building a case against ?
a). The dead peado
b). Murat
c). The mccanns
d). Any old faceless scruffy gypo
I'm off down to William Hills to put a fiver on Hewletts mate.

Article in the Guardian, "Madeleine McCann: UK prosecutors visit Portugal to discuss new leads" states the visit is a "significant development".

It might be argued that its quiet as something IS gojng on.
Joanne morais is well connected is she not so for her to let the cat put of the bag or prejudice any future justice would not be very helpful.
When the CPS are involved we may be looking at charges!

CPS lawyers go to Algarve in hunt for Maddie kidnapper
BRIT prosecutors have been to Portugal in the hunt for Madeleine McCann’s kidnapper — signalling fresh momentum in the bid to solve the mystery.
Lawyers from the Crown Prosecution Service flew to the Algarve as part of Scotland Yard’s £5million review of the three-year-old’s disappearance in May 2007.
A list of around 20 suspects — including Brits and Portuguese — has been drawn up by UK detectives.
Among them are known child sex offenders in the region at the time Madeleine, from Rothley, Leics, disappeared from her parents’ rented holiday villa in Praia da Luz.
Some were looked at as part of the original inquiry by Portuguese police, and will now face a fresh grilling.
The CPS team included London’s chief crown prosecutor Alison Saunders and deputy Jenny Hopkins. They flew out at the end of April but the trip only emerged yesterday.
Det Chf Supt Hamish Campbell leads two-year-old Operation Grange.
Madeleine’s parents Kate, 45, and Gerry, 44, would not comment.

Not sure about that last statement.
Does it mean the Macs have just remained silent.
Or
Were they asked for a comment and declined ?

Re: CPS Fly To Portgual - Evening Standard 21/6/13
I think it means they've been asked, if they hadn't the sentence would surely read 'have not commented'.
Remember the other week when it was announced SY could reopen the case in the UK, pinky initially said 'no comment'
They're really on the back foot.

Yes - it's 'would not' rather than 'could not' -which it may have been if they had been advised not to comment.
That sounds very much as if they had been asked and it was their decision not to speak.
Very much on the back foot, margaret - and hopefully clean bowled ...

I think that a first isn't it, on something that they could comment on, they havent. theyre quick to speak themselves, or a friend, a source, a family member or a pink one. Perhaps they've had strict instructions from the SY or legal representatives to keep their mouths shut. jimo.

Hope you are right, Loopdaloop.
I must say I thought the CPS were only involved at the END of the police investigation process, when the police were as sure as they could be that they had the case buttoned up. I thought CPS involvement indicated that they were having a good hard look at whether charges that were provable in court had been flagged up. ie that the CPS were all about deciding whether the case was strong enough to go to court with a likely prosecution success.

A very useful recap of the FACTS while reading the speculation in the press.
