Another day, another new DNA technique... When will the DNA in the scenic be the downfall of the mccanns

Just read this article re the Boston strangler where they used a new technique to analyse DNA.
It made me think about a recent McCann article where they said they had DNA evidence.
I wonder if they have used any new techniques to increase the conclusively of the DNA sample from the scenic

I thought the FSS destroyed the scenic evidence during testing ???
