'The Guilty'
Did any of you watch it last night?
If it's not based on this case I'll eat my socks.

Re: 'The Guilty'
It sounds very much like Broadchurch meets the McCanns.
Interesting timing too.
Will probably watch tonight or over the weekend with OH - he has recorded it.
He's been well trained!

Re: 'The Guilty'
When Katherine kelly who plays the mum was sitting on the settee at the beginning of the programme, talking to the police, her words could have been written and spoken by the one and only Kate. I even asked my husband who had written her part of the script!!!

Re: 'The Guilty'
Four-year-old boy gone from his bed. The mother says he had gone before and they thought he's just got out, but this time they found his scooter and they knew he'd been taken. She says "Someone somewhere knows where Callum is. We just need them to help us bring him home." Yes, script by Kate McCann!Keela wrote:When Katherine kelly who plays the mum was sitting on the settee at the beginning of the programme, talking to the police, her words could have been written and spoken by the one and only Kate. Re: 'The Guilty'
Katherine Kelly was speaking about her forthcoming role in "Guilty." She said her mother gave her Kate McCann's book Madeleine to read.
http://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/tv-radio/425876/Katherine-Kelly-s-verdict-on-The-Guilty
Maybe "Guilty" is based on Madeleine's disappearance.
Sorry I should have said, based on the McCanns version of Madeleine's disappearance.

If she had been given a copy of "the book" to read she would have known that you don't react that way when a child goes missing. You go jogging, have your hair highlighted, collect free bottles of plonk, not break down in tears and scream and wail.

Re: 'The Guilty'
The missing piece of the jigsaw campaign didn't start till December 2011.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2077371/Madeleine-McCann-Kate-Gerry-speak-continued-hope-Christmas.html
Maybe it will appear in a later episode?
I recommend looking for missing jigsaw pieces behind the settee.......

Re: 'The Guilty'
I thought it was a great show and there were indeed some similarities:
the date
the group of 'drinking' friends
nobody checked on the kids
the resuscitation attempt
the blanket
clearly there are 'skeletons' in the closet
Other than that.....well, Katherine Kelly played the grieving Mother with aplomb....unlike Mrs Mc

Re: 'The Guilty'
What friends above say is true enough, but maybe that is because the likes of us can see all the correspondences... We said the same about some aspects of 'The Suspicions of Mr Whicher'... I doubt Mr or Mrs Bloggs in the High Street would see the similarities though.

Re: 'The Guilty'
I like this quote: "Maggie and Claire's dual storylines provide an insight into parenthood, family and the idea of being wholly responsible for another life."
After all these years the McCanns refuse to take any responsibility for Madeleine's disappearance. They continue to deflect all blame to the unknown and alleged "abductor" when the fact remains that no matter the circumstances of Madeleine's disappearance, the McCannns are at least partially responsible.

Non U K viewers will be able to watch via a proxy server if you know how to sort out one of those, Weissnicht.
I liked the reference in last night's episode to a missing baby blanket!
