Also interesting at 5:15 into it - Matt is saying he did not go into the room and doesn't know why he didn't, but it was all quiet and Gerry remarks that neither did he take a step into the room or put his head in.
Now in Kate's book she has him standing over Madeleine looking down at her and thinking "how beautiful she is" - one version of the truth I suppose.
which is it, Kate and Gerry? Did he go in and stand over her in the pitch dark and see how beautiful she was? Or did he NOT put his head into the room as he states in his own reconstruction?
I guess this opens the timeline up even further to probably 830 - 10. Gerry could have "checked" on a child already missing. The door was open differently... he noticed that.
