Yes junvta, there was absolutely no excuse for the McCanns to go out EVERY NIGHT for several hours and leave their children unattended. Didn't want to pay for a sit in childminder, but happy to pay for Tennis lessons. You have to admire the cover-up of their negligence to such an extent that they are the victims, not Madeleine.

You know on that Canadian Video I posted above, there is also a bit in Portugese of Moite Flores commenting , can you translate it into English?

That is a good video that you provided. It is amazing that this woman who claimed to have left a baby and 3-year old at home to walk her children to school is immediately charged with neglect the following day, whereas the McCanns left their kids for at least as long or longer and have never been charged.

You can use Google translate.!!! What part of America are you from , Iv'e been there 3 times, have friends in New Jersey,I e-mailed them to see if they are O.K. with all that snow, no reply yet but when i was worried last year with the Hurricanes, they were cruising to Mexico  

I live in Southern California, just a mile or two from the ocean just north of Los Angeles. We have had a record warm winter so far unlike most of the rest of the country. I just took my dogs for walk in shorts and a tshirt and came back sweating.

I can't google translate unless I have the words in writing. If they are spoken in a video, I can't figure out what they are saying.

I just feel that if the McCanns had been pressured from the beginnning and been charged with neglect right away, things may have been different. However, as Amaral states, there was more politics than police in this case.

Yes Steve, it is pretty bad, but I am enjoying the warm weather. We could definitely use some rain here and some snow on our mountains.

The first visit to the US, a friend and I went 4 days in NY and 6 cruising up to Boston, down to Martha's vineyard. My friend smoked so was quite happy to stay in the Casino while I had a game of Poker (we call it Pontoon but it's nothing like the way you play. ) I got chatting with the Lady sitting next to me at the table and the rest is History. Iv'e been to New Jersey where she lives twice for thanksgiving and she and her partner came to Wales and stayed overnight as part of their 10 day whistlestop tour of Britain, taking in London, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. If I play my cards right I might get an invite to California....who knows?? (just kidding!).

Back on topic, I seem to remember as well as the video there was an Article written in Portugese, not to worry. Yes, the McCanns could have been charged with neglect which carried 1 one year sentence , or neglect causing harm which is 10 years. The help they had from Government , who has their own PR? , is truly unprecedented and I read that Gerry was being groomed by the Labour Party for a MP. He would have attended conferences etc which is how he knew Tony' Blairs' phone number and phoned him within the hour. Question, how could he know Madeleine would not be found in the interim?
