Clearly Woy is unable to see this which doesn't bode well for England's World Cup prospects.
prospects?

No prospects but as ever we live in hope.England look a very poor team.
Makes you realise how important someone like John Terry was to the team.
Can't blame it all on Rooney but remember how poor he was in South Africa and how average Man Utd are now.

blame the fa for putting pressure on successive coaches to select teams to win tournaments rather than picking youngsters and using the euros as a blooding ground in preparation for a world cup. roy has little choice but to go down that road now as most of the seniors are now past their useful date. as for terry...

Well, the best in the world just scored two more goals tonight and just became the best scorer ever in the national team.

Though John Terry is currently the best centre back according to Prem League statistics. And though I am not a big fan of his he could still do a job for England.

Re: Footie Thread...................
terry is perhaps the most fortunate footballer in recent memory, international wise. if not for the chronic injury to ledley king and those which blighted johnathan woodgate he would have been, at best, fourth choice centre back. now i know what your gonna say but in spite of his good fortune he was too stupid to realise how lucky he was and ended up as a devisive figure in the england camp right back as far as 2009. gerrard hates him as did a significant number of others see him as nothing more than a disruption. he's gone now and to be honest missed about as much as a hole in the head.

The trouble being that half the English team may well refuse to play if he was in the squad...Lioned wrote:Marky wrote:malena stool wrote:That and foreign players brought into the country by many club sides rather than develop our own youth.Marky wrote:Lioned wrote:No prospects but as ever we live in hope.England look a very poor team.

Yes i know all his team mates will be wondering whos wife hes shagging !
Nevertheless like him or not his partnership with Cahill would be best for England just look at Chelsea and their goals conceded column.
I would drop Rooney right out of it he doesnt fit into the way England are playing at all.Quite like the Southampton boys.
And definitely like Townsend.

Re: Footie Thread...................
Rooney gets selected purely on past performance and media acclaim, I see him as a thug in soccer kit. Unless Hodgson has formations in mind with other players alongside him, Rooney is a selection wasted.
Perhaps they should get Terry to take an oath of celibacy during the build up to England games and hope the rest of the squad will take him on trust...

Re: Footie Thread...................
Personally i would rather have john terry and frank Lampard and drop Gerard if he dont like it.
England have some good youngsters but they have to have a couple of old heads around them with a few brain cells.
Rooney has not got any brain cells and i dont think Gerard has many.
Looking at that team last night it needed a leader.

Re: Footie Thread...................
It's difficult to remember a good consistant England captain since the war other than Bobby Charlton and Emlyn Hughes that played with real enthusiasm and spurred their side on. Although to be fair the game was different and dare I say it, cleaner....

He might be one day. But first he has to eat his cereals and finish primary school.

I have absolutely nothing against Neymar. I think he has a lot of potential and may one day become the best or one of the best. Today, however, he isn't. Not even close. CR, Messi, Iniesta, Ibrahimovic, Ribery all better than him.
Re: Footie Thread...................
